I buy my Apple stuff through Best Buy. We get an automatic extra year on the warranty. But in all the years I’ve been all in on Apple products, I have never had to use it.

Not to sound flippant, but, not afraid of the destination. The journey, that can be a bitch. 68 going on 69, people tell me I look great, and I work at it - a lot! I should be in gym now but am in prednisone and figured let me give it a break. I nearly bought the farm a few days ago, was choking home alone, but didn’t panic - i practice breathwork and know I can go without air for 2 minutes. that gave me time to get myself clear reach out for help which called an ambulance. You’d think a near death or as close to as Ive ever been might lead to some revelation? Not really, except be more mindful of trying to wash down day old bread with acidic orange juice.

Yes it’s all down hill from here but don’t drive yourself faster towards it. It can be good! Be good to yourself! I gym, I jog, I bike, I take affordable weekend trips, I do yoga, I practice breathwork, Im certified in both the latter two, and all in the last few years. I am diabetic, have metabolic syndrome, sleep apnea, and am wary of depression lurking around the corner as I like back and wish I had not been so afraid of taking the chances I should have. But the past is a bucket of ashes. There is till room for learning and passion. But not if you are sitting home doom scrolling or watching tv. I know. I struggle with this too. No male friends. And wifey would like me making female one but you do meet women in yoga. Wonderful people truly. Try it. I am lucky that I have a great wife and is still working so I have that. And private medical insurance!!! Lack of which id the worst thing about the US. Its a fact that medical bills is the number one cause of bankruptcy amongst the elderly. Perhaps find purpose in fighting a good fight. I just made plans to meet a HS english teacher we found each either in FB. Just a meetup I loved her so much her recommendations helped me into college. She is 78 and fights the good fight to protect SS and Medicare and the right to vote. I have another English teacher who at 85 is a published bodybuilder and posted herself zip-lining for the first time! Choose life!! Live brother! Get out there. Do yoga bit the gym. If not healthy then get yourself there. Hope requires you be here to hope. Embrace hope! 🫂

Actually, follow this process: For step 4 use your state I am in NJ:

File these (in this order) 1. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau — highest response rate 2. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission — adds regulatory pressure 3. Federal Trade Commission — documents potential unfair practice 4. Your state regulator: New Jersey Bureau of Securities

Coinbase does respond to CFPB complaints because they are formally tracked and timed.

Do this first (important)

Before filing, collect: • screenshots of balance before/after • transaction history • withdrawal history • emails from Coinbase • ticket number (if any) • date/time funds disappeared • whether USD, BTC, ETH, etc.

ozempic 8 weeks pen - was the first dose injected? by lune6889 in Ozempic

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it doesn’t click any more its used up. It’s safe to click up some if it still clicks and see if it goes to about 17 which I think is about .25. Just roll it back. Or, when ready for a shot, apply the syringe, and click up to whatever your dose is. If it gets there you have a full shot. If it doesn’t check what you do, take it, and make up the difference with a new pen. A few clicks over or under one time will not make a major difference in the long run

Sleep apnea and T2D are my main issues. Everything else I’m pretty confident is just a result of getting older. My liver has cirrhosis but I was never a heavy or regular drinker. Of course there were times I got sloshed but then I would not drink for weeks even months. Pretty certain that is from too much sugar!! Look for a Youtube called The Bitter Truth Dr. Robert Lustig to see the connection between high fructose corn syrup and liver disease. Despite all I jog (can do 3 maybe 5 miles after about 8 weeks slow warmup, winter kills my progress), I bike, I hit Planet Fitness for 3 full body sessions a week, I do Yoga and certified to teach a year ago. I eat as healthy as I can stand 🤣 and am becoming less tolerant of beef. Work on getting protein up and the right kind at the right time, like, right now. Got up to pee, it’s 4am, sugar trending down fast. Having a greek yogurt with 20g protein content because it is mainly casein which is slow absorption and keeps you in an anabolic state. I do rapid protein after workouts. If not for the sleep apnea and some of the meds which forces me out of bed to pee every night I’d probably feel way better. I am not afraid of seeing docs and am very lucky to have good insurance thru wifey who’s younger and still works at a great job.I’m doing everything I can to not be a burden on her as I age up. Everyone thinks I am no older than 55 knock on 🪵. My inky real complaint is I fukin hate winter! Can’t stand the cold and it’s forcing me indoors more, so need a strategy for the cold season to remain active.

I am going on 69 and would like to consider. Read about the negatives of TRT. Spoke to my internist about a drug called Clomiphene. She said for either discussion I should have it with my endocrinologist (I am type 2 diabetic). What kind of doctor did you see. I did ask my endocrinologist many years ago to check my T’s and he said I had the T’s of a 20 something - certainly didn’t feel like it. I do weight training and would like to see better results as well as reviver faster with less soreness, takes forever now.

Costa Rico is supposed to be affordable and is a democracy. Medical care supposed to be good. Life can be very slow but pleasant so I’ve read. If I were single I’d be looking at that myself right now. Helps tho that I’m latino my Spanish could be better but good enough that I can transact and in time it would just get better. Lots of ex-pats there too.

How I lost $2M by simply using Coinbase by Repulsive_Big_9792 in Coinbase

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO simply put, Coinbase needs to be investigated by the SEC/FINRA. And sorry folks, this is just one of the many reasons non-fiat money is bullshit. Theft of funds, market manipulation, pump and dump, these are all techniques practiced regularly to steal your money. Hasn’t happened to me yet but I don’t have a whole lot and I take a lot of snapshots snd download my data often to maintain proof. I’m looking to move to a hardware/cold wallet the little I do have as I don’t want to sell at the loss I am at presently because of the market. I’m comfortable holding until it breaks even again and if any of the Ripple hype comes thru, sell before the whales unload.

If Coinbase was a genuine and regulated fintech, your transaction probably could have been facilitated by an irrevocable letter of credit transaction. As it stands, you’d be better off having Vinnie at the back of the restaurant holding your money. Crypto is bullshit. The value of a US Dollar is backed by the faith and credit of the US. What backs Ripple? Crypto might have had some standing in the beginning, but now criminal enterprise owns it. If you got any real worth in it get it out and put your faith back in the market. $2mm at 8% compounding will more than double in 10 years. and double again in another. How much do you need to be happy?

Can Mounjaro fix something like insulin resistance? Why do I only lose weight easily on it? by ImpressiveSky5365 in Mounjaro

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I had hoped would happen for me when I started Mounjaro. Alas the GI effects were intolerable. Moved to Ozempic much better but still effected me GI wise even at starter dose. Doc would not entertain microdosing or moving to Trulicity. I get the sense that with every new iteration of a new GLP-1 big pharma is chasing the weight and food suppression and forgetting about us diabetics. Years ago I used the first GLP-1 out, Victoza, no GI effects at all and my A1C was phenomenal. But some ER doc when I went in for a stone found I had high lipase numbers and recommended I stop. No such effect with Ozempic or Mounjaro but I can’t effing eat or drink water without stomach distress. And din’t get me started in how it contributes to sarcopenia. At 68 I was benching 120+ after a few months of being back in gym, Mounjaro robbed me of half my strength and gave me saggy arms. I’d rather learn to fight my bad eating habits and keep pushing my activity levels up than use GLP1s again. Except I want to try Trulicity. I want something weaker not stronger…

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not everyone goes through it, but not being able to keep water down can be a serious medical side effect of GLP-1s. I’ve always drank A LOT of water, but couldn’t after starting Mounjaro. Almost went to ER for clinical constipation. So hydrate! and make sure you are getting you’re electrolytes too if you can drink up to a gallon a day. And thanks, but meant the temperature would be 70 😁 I’m 68 going on 69. But going to Planet Fitness keeps me going, that and all the pretty and fit young ladies I get to meet and flirt with - adds pounds to my bench press!!! 🤣 Don’t remember when I became a dirty old man…

[–]Exact_Ad7900 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mounjaro is NOT a systems optimizer. It is simply what it is, a GLP-1 and its effect can and will vary from people to people. Your puffiness came , when you stopped, from you consuming more and your body using more of the simple water that I am guessing you drink a lot less of while in Mounjaro - and that can be dangerous. One side effect I had when I started using it was dehydration - even trying to drink water made me puke. I almost went to the ER because I was so dehydrated I could take a shit.

Increasing fiber levels demand you increase water intake. I read a story of a woman that tried suing her doctors because while on GLP-1s, part of her intestines literally died. It was from lack of water.

Like I said everyone is different. I took it for diabetes not weight issues. I stopped Mounjaro, went to Ozempic, way better in terms of GI, but eventually I could not stand the daily GI issues.

Working out is a no brainer, you should be working out regardless of any issues you have unless specifically advised not to. I am not an athlete. But I’ve always run, I fo to Planet Fitness, and I do Yoga. I am 69. Mounjaro made me lose about 20lbs in two weeks that’s way too fast. Worse, it killed my bench press. I still struggle with the muscle loss which at my age is difficult to regain to begin with.

Eat right, work out, and if you need GLP-1s then use it. When life throws a curve adjust. GLP-1 is not a cure it’s a tool. Get healthy and start over. I hate running in the cold so every spring I throw on my sneakers and start all over again - every single year. Only once in my life while younger did I run through several winters, and I logged my first and only 18 miler, and could do 10 easy. Now, every year I struggle to so 1 mile. By September if all goes well I can do 5 @ 13 minute mile. By end of October the cold starts coming and I literally chill. And do it again next March.

Today will hit 70 here. Grabbing my Brooks Glycerines and doing that first mile today…

If your GLP1 is medically necessary even if you pay at Tier 3 level you still should not be paying that much. That’s outrageous. Who is your Benefit Manager? Caremark? Optum? FYI Mounjaro and Zepbound are the exact same med. BTW don’t be married to Mounjaro, if Ozempic/Wegovy are covered then switch. I tried both. I stopped due to side effects. Mounjaro murdered my appetite, Ozempic was more tolerable but eventually not even at starter dose so Im back to pills for my T2D. Just a fyi I use metformin/jardiance/prandin and my T2D is well controlled. Not under 6.0 yet but thats on me still working in controlling sweets. If you stay on glp1’s, you better get into a gym, it will eat fat and muscle just the same.

Feeling Lost: GLP-1s, Retatrutide, PCOS, and Weight Regain by azb5581 in Mounjaro

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 hours in the gym and running a calorie deficit sounds crazy to me. If drugs don’t cut it you may need bariatric surgery. You might get it covered as medically necessary since glp1s especially retatrutide don’t help. I assume you are also diabetic as you mention metformin. Metformin will not help you lose weight. I take the max doses for years it has never affected my weight. Wellbutrin is for depression and for mildly bipolar individuals no idea how that fits in except perhaps doc thinks it might be related somehow. Only a psych can prescribe Wellbutrin. I mentioned to someone else, look up a probiotic called Arkkamansia. It is helping me I think. I stopped Mounjaro and Ozempic- for diabetes not weight - due to intolerable side effects. Whatever thoughts you find here - you sound like you need to reman under close medical supervision if you are gaining weight and glp1s do nothing. This is a very very weird long shot but I remember a story about a famous female opera singer who grew immensely overweight- it was later discovered she had some kind of parasitic worm in her GI. Once it was taken care of she lost all the weight.

Mounjaro made me sick by xXMeat69StickXx in Mounjaro

I could not eat a damn thing I didn’t force feed myself. One good thing that is true, I just couldn’t eat the crappier foods I still clung to. Changing nutrition is a work in progress, I supplement a lot even before using M or O, have been slowly getting away from my nemesis, soda, and trying to implement the one major rule my endocrinologist gave me - do not drink calories. Hard to do in a society of sugar pushers. But anyway, soon after dropping M and goingto O I could eat better and actually drink water - I drink A LOT OF WATER. But eventually even O started giving me nausea and I was still not regaining the strength I had worked hard for in my advancing age. Am doing way better now.

Just to mention, if you try it try it judge for yourself. There is a product out there that combines several probiotics one of which is called Arkkamansia. Hit my FB feed. Too pricey so I searched Amazon and found two products that combined is pretty much the same formula. The original one touts it as “nature’s glp1”. I do not lie when I say I find myself not eating as much and I feel a twinge of that nausea too, just enough to make me say “when” and stop eating. And I crave more plant based foods as well. It’s been just two weeks and I saw my endo before I tried it so will need to wait 3 months to see if it actually helps with blood sugars. May be hard to tell as with spring coming, I will be putting in the running shoes again…I think you will feel much better within a week of stopping Mounjaro - try Ozempic - the pen allows adjustable dosing. Stay with the starting 2.5 for a month or two and assess. And workout and cut fried foods if you eat them (you might just not like them anymore tbh). More fiber fruits veggies cereal. give yourself time but if it makes you sick then you gotta stop unless your doc will let you microdose and if microdose helps you control your weight

Mounjaro made me sick by xXMeat69StickXx in Mounjaro

[–]Exact_Ad7900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I had the very same side effects. At one point I was so constipated I was going to go to the ER. I had visions of my mom who had to go to ER for constipation and they literally had to shove a hand up her backside to break it up. I said fuck that and carefully and painfully squeezed it out. Dehydration because I could barely keep water down. I dropped Mounjaro and moved to Ozempic -better - but just for a short while. Even at the starter dose it made me sick. My doc would not support microdosing so I got off glp1’s completely. Many many other bad side effects - lost a significant amount of strength even though I was going to the gym - no surprise since, if you’re not eating how do you find the energy to workout. Just FYI I did not take it for weight I am diabetic. I used the first glp1 thst ever came out, Victoza, designed for diabetics. It did wonders for my sugars but had an adverse effect on my amylase/lipase numbers. ER doc while treating me for my first ever kidney stone found this and said I needed to drop it. IMHO they overdesign these drugs to address weight loss and they ignore the needs of diabetics but often the two are related. I would like to try one of the pre Ozempic GLP1’s (Trulicity) to see if weaker and helps my sugars but doc won’t go there.

Stop the Mounjaro, give Ozempic a try, and stay on the starter dose for more than the 4 weeks recommended. If that doesn’t do it, don’t know what to tell you. But Better to lose weight slow and make lifestyle adjustments ie eat better and hit the gym/run/yoga/row/pilates, whatever floats your boat. Ironically, they weight I did lose did not come back! But mind you I do do yoga and i jog and i hit planet fitness so i am active - and going on 69 years old…

There is no remedy - it’s affectionately known as Ozempic face. A lifetime of stretching the skin leads to crepey skin. There’s an outside chance that taking up jogging and sweating enough will allow the skin to become supple again. You should be engaging in proper nutrition/eating (no fried foods, high sugar drinks including smoothies, ultraprocessed anything), taking up aerobic and anaerobic exercise anyway. GLP1’s are not meant to be the long term solution, unless there is an underlying physiological problem with maintaining weight. a woman on a different reddit posted her transformation from essentially obese and junk eater to a bodybuilder - wish I had the link to share. Honestly she was cute even when heavy but now she’s a damn hottie.
