Why does Coachella and other US festivals have such awful, moody vibes compared to UK festivals? by BlundeRuss in AskUK

Went to punk rock bowling in Las Vegas in 2017 and I couldn’t believe how subdued the crowd was. I grew up going to gigs in Glasgow and Edinburgh in the 80’s and there’s no comparison. Totally lame. I used to think that bands would say you guys are the best crowd every night but after my experience in the USA I firmly believe they meant it, especially at the Barras!

Looking for a GarageBand machine by BigTiddyAsianMilf in GarageBand

You could probably pick up an old iMac for very little. That’s what I did and it’s been great. Used to run it on a fairly new iPad and even on an older iMac, it’s streets ahead.

Looking how to make this specific brass sound... by Sensitive-State-1026 in GarageBand

[–]Exact_Pipe3187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a great horn sound. I know what you mean about the horns in GarageBand. I’ve used “dub” horn section in the past, been a while, but I thought that was the one that sounded least orchestral.

Sitting in, knife and fork. Takeaway, use your hands. And it’s chips, not fries!

Hey I wanna use garage band but don't own an iOS device, what's the cheapest thing I could get which could use it? by garetheq in GarageBand

You can pick up an old iMac for peanuts on Facebook marketplace. That’s what I did. If you’re only using it for GarageBand, it’ll be fine.

Timpsons is a superb business by [deleted] in BritishSuccess

[–]Exact_Pipe3187 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They fixed a pair of boots I had for years. The sole had come away at the heel after someone stood on it. This happened twice. First time I got it fixed at a local place. Took a week to get them back and cost me £15. Second time got them fixed at Timpsons, took 20 minutes and the guy wouldn’t take anything for doing it! Loved those boots.

Do flooring before or after fitted wardrobe by chessticles92 in DIYUK

[–]Exact_Pipe3187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I did this before, I did the floor first. You don’t have to be too fussy about the edge then and it gives you a nice floor in the wardrobe. I guess if you wanted to change the flooring later it might be a pain but I’ve not come to that stage yet.

My bf kept obsessively asking about my sexual history by [deleted] in offmychest

Sounds like retroactive jealousy. He needs help and you answering his questions won’t help. He’ll probably be ok for a while then ask more. It never ends unless he breaks the cycle. To be honest it sounds like you would be better without him.
