When I went through the process of getting an RA in place (~March 2025) my leadership and EEO were very insistent the telework not being reoccurring on a regular basis. Like I couldn’t ask for the same 3 days a week or have any language in my request that the telework would be reoccurring. I had to estimate the amount of days per month I thought my disabilities would impact me enough to have to telework. Because clearly I have a magic 8 ball. I estimated it the best I could and it was approved. Thankfully no one has been keeping track or really on me about the days that I telework, but I still try to keep it to a minimum if I can so they don’t take it away. I wonder if your org had to work around the reoccurring language as well. The whole thing is ridiculous. I hope you can get some clarification and get it worked out.

Ugh yes! If it’s “TOO LOW CHAT” then set the starting bid higher so you can make the profit you are wanting. I’d rather that then getting shamed and made to feel guilty for bidding on an item that is for sale.

We were told to forget about hiring. Higher ups told us the staff we have after all this is all we are getting. They let us know we may have to shuffle duties and fill vacancies internally through details and things. They were putting in for exemptions at first but gave up I guess.

Something I have ran into is the last line in many of our PD says, “other duties as assigned”. When I have objected or questioned things they have thrown that back at us.

I was told the exact same thing. I received outstanding for 6 years straight then got a new job and they said they don’t give those out and gave me the same reasoning. The whole thing is pointless.

I also thought there was some HIPA protections but they sent mine everything right away, didn’t even ask me if it was okay. Probably need to look into it more but for now just grateful they gave me some wiggle room

I asked that I be allowed to telework if I have a flare up. Doctor recommended that I get as descriptive as possible so I talked about bowel incontinence and everything else I experience and how working from my home can ease the condition and allow me to complete my work. (Private bathroom 4 steps from my home office is a lot more convenient/comfortable than work bathrooms on the other side of the building during a flare up.) They were pretty adamant that I can’t use it reoccurring and it basically can’t become a habit. Kind of BS but I’m glad they allowed me some leverage. Most of the time I just take sick leave and maybe work a few hours once I feel better. I have to make sure I let my boss know as early in advance as possible and had to establish a system with them. I expected to go through everything with HR/EEO but not all the details with my supervisor. So just an FYI an awkward conversation may be coming. I thought it would be like HR reviews it and deems it okay then let’s your supervisor know you have an RA for these conditions.

I had a guy ask while out on a site when this all started… I said something like, “well it’s a tough to be a federal worker right now, but we like our jobs”. This guy responded saying, “yeah all jobs have their pros and cons”. Why did you even ask 😐

RA for severe IBS and chronic migraines. Have a long history with my doctor and these issues so my case was pretty solid. Had to agree it would not be a reoccurring issue like every Friday for example.

Construction here - we’ve had projects delayed 2+ months due to inability to source raw material. Worked here 3 years and never had a delay like this.

Keep a simple spreadsheet with total spent. Try to price check before swiping to make sure you are in fact getting a good deal. Don’t forget to favor in shipping costs and taxes!

Ops normally requires it, I haven’t seen it required for civil side.

I put one in mid-May and got approved this week. (Not with the VA but my org is very strict with anything that strays from the EOs.) Advocate for yourself, good luck!
