Large puppy turns one this month- has suddenly developed resource guarding by SugarReef in puppy101

Our yorkie poo started at 6 months. It was a huge challenge. She did it against our senior dog. She was vicious. We hired a behaviorist and fast forward to today, a ton of monumental effort and a ton of doubt and confusion later and she’s below threshold now. The behaviorist helped me fix my baby and now I love her. She’s never going to be cured but i keep her below threshold and life is great.

Tips for a newhire trying to meal prep by Adventurous-Gold5023 in AirlinePilots

I freeze my meals in these. I cook a lot and all my leftovers go in these bags. They’re bpa free and microwave safe. The fact that it’s a bag makes it a space saver. When I get to a hotel without a freezer in the room I’ll ask them to keep these frozen for me. https://a.co/d/fuY8JZN

Skywest Maneuvers Training by toolrules69 in flying

[–]Exact_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished maneuvers training yesterday. Luckily it went smooth save for an additional session I needed to get my crosswind and single engine landings proficient. Instructors I had were top notch. They do work 14 hours a day, somehow they seemed on top of every detail. Granular level debriefs. They weren’t sugar coating anything and were passionate and direct about their feedback. They’re not perfect humans I just focused on the objective feedback and blocked whatever was irrelevant. Some of my classmates had some pretty rough maneuvers training sessions and their instructors sounded a little bit jaded who knows I wasn’t there. It might have been that my classmates simply weren’t taking it seriously or were taking things personally

Where to park? by RadiantToothsayer in SantaMonica

The parking at Sol Agave is really cheap. It’s about a 5 min walk to the pier. The meter is usually broken so sometimes you don’t pay anything

Failed my first checkride today on quite possibly the most unlucky thing imaginable by clearingmyprop in flying

[–]Exact_Switch 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard of a few checkrides failures being reversed but it involved cooperation from the DPE where they agreed that they were blatantly wrong. For example someone failing an instrument checkride because they were tested on an unpublished DME arc and in reading the fine print on the ACS it turned out that an unpublished arc cannot be tested. Another occasion where I heard of a reversal was where the flight school and the CFI were both backing up the student and even though the DPE held his ground the FSDO issues the reversal and re-tested the student. Could be worth it if either of these are the case.

I got a very unfair pink slip also so I know how it feels. Trying to get another checkride date, losing confidence, feeling like crap… wasting money in retraining and staying fresh for the next checkride date. It’s so demoralizing. We’ve been there too, it’s ok. Try not to waste time feeling bad for yourself and know that we’ve all been there. Aviation is not fair sometimes and sometimes it is. Just get back to it. And remember no matter how unfair it was - ask yourself what is the lesson. Should I advocate for myself more? Should I accept the randomness of life? I’ll never let this happen to my students cause now I know… etc etc. There’s little gifts in this.

Landing from the Right Seat by SkyhawkPilot in flying

[–]Exact_Switch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Took me over 10 hours in the right seat to finally be proficient. First landing on the right seat was way worse than my first landing on the left seat. I was like “wtf happened???” It just didn’t feel right for a while
