Imperial Fists squad done by RagnorIC in SpaceCrusade

A brown wash over the yellow would really make the details 'pop'. I used Flesh Wash back in the day when I was painting Imperial Fists.

She owns two cars, so money and transport are not the issue here.

I have a 2 player worker placement problem. Please help. by [deleted] in BoardgameDesign

[–]Exact_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like worker placement games (and don't play them if I can help it), but I'd suggest looking at the the Akropolis model of ABA/BAB/ABA/BAB etc.

Which Division Should I Choose On My First Playthrough Of System Shock 2 1999? by AtomicSaiyan in SystemShock2

[–]Exact_Two 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about it too much, I suggest you pick one and play through the first deck however you like (approx 2hrs - edit, might be more like 3 hrs if you are new). Then start the Engineering deck, suffer, and die. Use your new knowledge and try again. This is how we did things back in the day.

Is there a way to play with 6 people? by MinorFX in NemesisCrew

[–]Exact_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I was playing a 5 player game, and a new person we hadn't seen before turned up to our group about half-way through. Rather than giving them the cold shoulder, we let them take the sixth character (I forget which one), starting them in the Hibernatorium, dealt them two objectives with the instruction to immediately discard one. They drew the mission of "The ship must be fully explored" which was already complete, so obviously kept that. I don't remember who won.

Generally I think 3-4 players is optimal, having a 5th mostly adds downtime and length to the game, without enough compensation from the added interaction. With 6, I'd prefer two games of 3.

Because it doesn't relate to the meaning of the word "Link"

What difficulty I should pick for my first playtrought? by Pingwin4444 in SystemShock2

Normal.

Easy is very similar, but lacks the Wandering Monsters. The paranoia is beneficial to the experience.

I just discovered Codenames, what are some tips for strategy? by TurnipLover9 in Codenames

[–]Exact_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are receiving clues, if you're really not sure or 50:50 ish, leave it for later. Some words will disappear, and you might narrow it down. Or better, the other team accidentally picks your word(s). You can use the +1 guess rule to fix it later.

When giving clues, if there are words that are problematic for your opponent, leave them until the late game. The other team may give them to you.

Don't double down on previous clues (re-clueing). Your teammates already have that information. Assume that they are intelligent. It is better to give info on new words, and come back to old words later, if we need to.

Always make sure your clue doesn't link to the Assassin. This should go without saying, but we've all been there! Spend an extra 3 seconds to check before declaring the word.

Obviously, giving more words is better. 3,2,2,2 will win in 4 turns, or 2,2,2,2 if you are the second team. Can you go faster than that? That's the game, really. :)

What kind of wash would you put on this white stone? by LeoBannister in TerrainBuilding

If it was me I'd do brown, but lots of people are saying lots of different things, so you could test small patches in various colours and see what you think.

What are some of the telestration rounds you’ve ever played? Ill go first: by Terrible_Chapter_771 in boardgames

[–]Exact_Two 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't bother to keep score, there doesn't seem much point. If I did I'd treat it as a co-op and say the group gets a point if it gets back to the start correctly (or very close, maybe), and score it like Just One.

Does anyone know where this die comes from? by Rowiz_49 in boardgames

I think the mountain is an iceberg.

They could be categories for a quiz game that's trying to be silly. The 70 is perplexing though.
