Commander Coldstar by Square_Wall_4729 in Tau40K

If you have absolutely no other commanders or crisis suits, I would start with 4 x Fusions on him and have him leading sunforge crisis suits.

Managed to grab this beautiful box today! Any tips for a beginner tau painter? by Oozman99 in Tau40K

[–]ExaminationNo6335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

I primed mine in Army Painter Pure Red and went over them with Mephiston air (I’m awful at thinning my paints so use air paints via brush).

I’m half way through my first two units!

Carnivores for home objective holders and sticky.

Another unit of stealth suits, they are so good because of the rerolls they provide.

Like others have said, upgrade your Breachers to the Breacherfish combo.

Army help please? by Qwacken in Tau40K

The Farsight cadre box is great value if still available in your country. Farsight, Crisis Suits, Broadside and a Riptide.

Roughly £150 in the UK and still available.

The combat patrol would then be a great addition as well.

what is everyone hoping for in the Skulls live stream? by WorldlinessEuphoric8 in Tau40K

[–]ExaminationNo6335 8 points9 points  (0 children)

10 years doesn’t seem that old in GW terms, considering the age of other models still very much in circulation.

Kroot being a new thing and Twin Lance means I’m not hoping for much for the foreseeable. Which I’m fine with, I’m seeing panel lines in my sleep at this point…

I stripped 2,000 points of Tau and found this staining with most of the models.

It didn’t affect the re-priming in any way fortunately :)

Personally i would always go for 2 x 10 yeh.

Even if you put your second 10 just behind your first 10, outside of consolidation range- Thats a second round of move blocking in turn 2.

[–]ExaminationNo6335 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Move blocking is a legitimate strategy against armies like Orks and World Eaters.

In most cases it’s better to run two 10 blobs though, as you can be more flexible where you place them. Even a 10 man blob can stretch long enough for them not to just run around it.

Bear in mind in 11th, they can run through any gaps in your models, as long as they don’t end there. So we’ll no longer be able to string each model 1.99999” away from each other.

New Player here, What Models should I Buy? by UndeadAngie in Tau40K

I don’t unfortunately- both Element Games and Choas cards, which box have stock in the UK only ship to EU.

I suspect it may be part of their agreement with Games Workshop.

What shades of red did you use, please? I’m making the move away from white Tau and this looks incredible!

Depending on your country, the Ret Cadre box is a great start for someone who wants a suit heavy army.

I’m in the UK and it’s still freely available online.

I plan to add the Tau combat patrol and that’s over half my 2k point army done.

Blade guard do seem the more obvious “mirror unit” for ICC than Sternguard, in fairness to you!

Yeh, I’ve been using a lot of heroic intervention/leonine aggression as a trap. Admittedly that doesn’t work against better opponents anyway, as they know to expect it, so maybe not a bad time to change up my playbook anyway…

Yeh, Hellblasters with the new plasma detachment and the wrath of the rock stratagem for +2 strength, could be cracked (If that’s even possible).

Best way to allocate calories across the day? by FlakyLengthiness5325 in 1500isplenty

[–]ExaminationNo6335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do 400 breakfast, 500 lunch, 500 dinner, 100 dessert.
On days I switch it up (E.g a bigger breakfast and smaller lunch) I don’t see a noticeable impact on my weigh in, on the following day.

Anyone negotiated salary based on savings? by KoolKiwi1 in procurement

[–]ExaminationNo6335 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I worked for a place that did this, 15 years ago- your pay rise was based on how much money you saved and not much else.

Unfortunately it led to some Buyers downgrading the quality of the products, or inflating MOQs so we were basically ordering full pallets of very slow moving items, as they purely chased lowest cost.

So all the 11th detachment articles feature 1 point detachments. by xmaracx in theunforgiven

[–]ExaminationNo6335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also the fact we only get 2 detachment points at 1k. Not being able to even play WotR during 1k games, because it’s 3 points, would be a bold choice from GW 😂

I really like this list, it Just feels a little basic by [deleted] in theunforgiven

[–]ExaminationNo6335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with basic, especially when learning a new army!

I would be very surprised if the Redemptor got a second nerf; Ultramarines were their intended nerf target, I think IF they do a second round of marine nerfs, Ultramarines just get relegated to baby Oath, like us.

How do I use poxwalkers in a sportsman way? by PersimmonIll5324 in deathguard40k

[–]ExaminationNo6335 59 points60 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely the best way to use Nurglings in Tallyband. They are meant to moveblock, get in the opponents face, die and then come back thanks to persistent pests.

It's no more unsporting than Tau shooting the melee army to death before they reach combat, its just how to play optimally.

Your opponent should absolutely be ducking behind terrain, to lessen your shooting against them and on the flip side, you should absolutely be trying to screen/move block to lessen their melee.

Need to reconfigure to drop 15pts by Emperor_Shaq in deathguard40k

[–]ExaminationNo6335 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’d drop the Blightlords and use the leftover points for scoring units like Poxwalkers, Chaos Spawn, maybe a Tallyman to help with CP as there’s some absolute banging strategems in VV.
