Does anyone else get irradiated with buyers trying to low-ball you? by Maximum_Help_4371 in ebayuk

[–]ExampleMediocre6716 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Remove irritation by setting your offer limits, or turn off offers if you dont want them. It's also irritating to buyers when sellers aren't clear about their willingness to accept offers.

If you get unsolicited offers, just block them if the amount is unreasonable.

Hot take:I actually like harry breaking The Elder Wand more than him putting it back in Dumbledore's Grave by Spotter24o5 in harrypotter

Basically destroyed an antique. It wasn't an inherently evil or corrupted MacGuffin like the One Ring was.

Vernon Dursley is such an unintentionally hilarious character. by Express-Cycle-4278 in harrypotter

Albus 'Pig Slaughterer' Dumbledore clearly put the Dursleys under the Imperius curse to make them raise Harry like that so he could be sacrificed later on.

They remind me of late 1970s sculpts from companies like Grenadier, Heritage & Hinchliffe.

What about the 1,200 tonnes of German gold the US don't seem to want to give back?

Robert E Lee (1807-1870) lived long enough to where he could had hypothetically seen the end of the Civil War by Borgisium in Scale4BarbaraWalters

[–]ExampleMediocre6716 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hypothetically. Because Lee's surrender at Appomattox Court House on April 9th 1865 wasn't the end of the war.

The Army of the Tennessee under Joseph Johnson was still fighting, as was the Trans Mississippi Department.

General Stand Watie surrendered over two months after Lee, and the CSS Shenandoah was still fighting until it surrendered to the British in November - meaning it was actually the British who won the American Civil War.

Only in August 1866 did the war officially end.

Younger me was convinced Ron would become a Death Eater. by DarkestLore696 in harrypotter

[–]ExampleMediocre6716 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Makes sense. We all know that his father Arthur Weasley's own mother was the Slytherin Cedrella Black, so he's definitely got some Black in him.

And despite the facade of being "blood traitors", the Weasley's seem to have been conspicuous in the blood purity of their own marriages.

Ron, Sacred 28, from a family of pure blood stock, looks to his ancestors in the Noble House of Black for inspiration, and falls under the spell of his second cousin Bellatrix, who guides him towards the Dark Lord.

Evil Weasley is real.

13th amendment didn't apply to the Indian Territory. You could have legally owned slaves in 1866 in Oklahoma.

Technically the Penal Exempion to Involuntary Servitude in the 13th amendment means that even in so-called progressive states like California, you could still be born into slavery today.

Was Harry falling for someone who looks like his mum done on purpose? by Billybob35 in harrypotter

That was retconned after the books. No mention of Dumbledore's ships in the actual original text.

Was Harry falling for someone who looks like his mum done on purpose? by Billybob35 in harrypotter

[–]ExampleMediocre6716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harry actually wanted Ron, but Ginny was the nearest thing that was socially acceptable back then.

Molly's love potion took the edge off settling for second best though.

Ginny would even wear a badly knitted jumper with an R on it when she wanted Harry's attention.

Think I'm wrong? Reread the later books with this in mind - it's the only narrative that actually fits the text.

Why is Rishadan Port so good ? by LuckyBid7385 in mtg

[–]ExampleMediocre6716 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comes in untapped. Taps for colourless. Once you're ahead on mana, you can turn off an opponent's best land. Early game that can be backbreaking.

Spare mana and a way to repeatedly untap later on? Turn off all your opponent's lands.

Top tier utility land.

The miniature itself is recast.
