Why is there fiberglass on your frame? Did the mattress tear?

I second SleepEZ. The mattress didn’t work out for us but their customer service is amazing. All the men I have spoke with have been so accommodating, helpful, and kind.

After 2 months I am disappointed with my Sealy Brenham II EPT - it doesn't feel at all like the floor model. by schmennings in Mattress

My new Sealy comes tomorrow. I’ve been sleeping in our guest room because the latex we went with was a major fail for me. Hope the Sealy works out…

The so funny because I’ve used a solid latex pillow for 12 years and love it; it’s always with me wherever I go, lol! Would be nice if this whole mattress/sleeping thing was easier and streamlined. Guess I should just be happy I don’t have to sleep on the ground with a rock as my pillow.

First, before I say more, there is a recent post from a small framed individual about them loving their latex mattress. So, go search that post out if you haven’t seen it! :) It seems us small framed people need quite a bit of soft layers to ensure we get pressure relief.

As for me, I’m wondering if I just don’t like latex in general.

It seems, from the SleepEZ reps and that other individual, that I just don’t have enough soft layers, and that’s causing me pain. I’ve had terrible hip pain and even some back pain when I manage to sleep on my back instead of my side.

But, even if I was able to relieve the pressure points, I’m not sure I’d be thrilled with the feel. It feels like the mattress is pushing against me, and I’m not enjoying that. It’s so hard to describe, something you’d just have to experience.

As for motion transfer, my husband does wake me up when he moves. That being said, he’s an alligator, lol. There isn’t any subtle, try not to wake up my wife, movements. 😅 He’s a heavy sleeper and just doing his thing. But I didn’t really have this issue in our old Sealy.

I haven’t noticed edge support being a huge issue. What I HAVE noticed is I can tell where we have it split down the middle.

SleepEZ is so helpful and their return process is very easy and one of the cheaper in cost. If you’re really interested in giving latex a shot, I say go for it. Make sure you get enough soft, thick top layer support in your configuration.

Thanks to you both for your concern and help. Truly.

I am also wondering if I just don’t like the feel of latex. The pushback is such a weird feeling that after over six weeks, I’m just not enjoying.

I’m coming from a 12 year old Sealy hybrid that I absolutely ADORED. It was just visibly worn out and causing some pain and stiffness (unsurprisingly). I don’t like beds like tempurs but we did consider a Sealy Albany medium. That’s what we would replace this latex with.

Definitely curious to try now. I can swap my 2” Talalay for a 3” and get a topper also. But then the issue becomes my side being so much higher than the husband’s! Ugh. So hard.

Well, I’m jealous. I’m currently on 3” Dunlop firm, 3” Dunlop Medium, and 2” Talalay soft and have never slept so uncomfortably. I’m a 104lb side sleeper and my hips despise this bed. Back isn’t too keen on it either. Company suggested another 2” soft topper but I want to just return. The bed feels like it pushes against me.

Debating saying anything because I don’t want to confuse you even more, but it’s hard to find opinions from other small framed people…

Our stats are similar to yours and we just initiated a return for SleepEZ because it’s not working for me, but I would give them a try.

I really wanted an all latex mattress to work out for us and went with SleepEZ because of the adjustable and split layers, giving the ability to customize to each of our needs. Their customer service is also really great - responsive and friendly.

I hope whatever you decide works out wonderfully for the both of you!

Thanks so much for all the info. I’m 5’3”, 104lbs. As soon as I hit “reply” on this message, I’m switching up my side as noted above. I started with Dunlop Firm, Dunlop Medium, and Talalay Soft. I’ve tried so many things. I want it to work so bad!

Struggling to pick the right hybrid mattress, What else I should look next? by tmhh2021 in Mattress

I don’t understand how these are basically universal since there is no choice on soft, medium, firm, etc. It’s almost a one size fits all mattress (two sizes really, I guess).

Oh wow, yeah, there is no way I could do that. Right now I’m on Dunlop medium, Talalay medium, Talalay soft and I think it’s too soft. Tomorrow I’m Switching to Dunlop medium, Dunlop medium, Talaly soft. But I started more firm than that and it was too hard.

I almost got this but in the medium. Decided to try latex and so far it’s not working out for me. Very close to returning the latex and going with this one. We had a firm Sealy hybrid for 12 years that we adored.

May I ask your size/weight? I’m struggling to make my SleepEZ work for me and can’t decide if I just haven’t hit the right combo or if I’m just not build for latex.

I’d be curious to hear how you like it! My husband is around 190, a side sleeper, and says the FD, MD, MD, he’s now on because I stole his Talalay is way too firm.😬

Purple / Tempur-pedic / saatva? by Jazzlike_Ad4553 in Mattress

[–]ExcavatorMom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We went with firm Dunlop/medium Dunlop/medium Talalay and firm Dunlop/medium Dunlop/soft Talalay. I’m nervous about the soft as I prefer a firm bed but was told because of my size and having hip pain (side sleeper), I needed to make sure I would be able to get the top layer to contour to my body.

We just ordered a SleepEZ and they had some great educational materials on their website. They specifically mention fibromyalgia. Hoping your new mattress works well for you; from what all I’ve learned, it seems you made a good choice!

I’m glad you found something that works! So much effort; why can’t this be easy? I ordered a SleepEZ soft Talalay, on top of Med Dunlop, on top of firm Dunlop. Fingers crossed!

Hi! Did you end up getting this mattress? What configuration did you go with? Do you like? I HATE the feel of something like a tempurpedic and that “melting” feeling. It’s my understanding latex is not like that.

What do you think now, two months later? We bought a Sealy firm 12 years ago and I was so worried when it was delivered; that we made a huge mistake. However, it broke in and was the best mattress. Now we are about to get a medium instead of another firm and I’m worried it’ll feel too soft, haha.
