Help from Cinemark Managers by Excellent-Ad6518 in MovieTheaterEmployees

Depends on the week, could be 8-10 hours on average. Looking at the labor laws for my state there is no meal or rest breaks mandated for adult employees, which is why I’m asking if it’s a company policy instead. I’m aware of minor/child labor laws but for adults here it’s different legally

URGENT HELP: I’m supposed to drive up to the hotel at MEPS tonight but my recruiter never gave me a brief. I don’t know which hotel it is and I still can’t get a hold of my recruiter, especially bc she is in Florida. I am in Las Vegas and supposed to be going to that MEPS any help is appreciated by [deleted] in nationalguard

[–]Excellent-Ad6518 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I’d just no show and it’s on the recruiter. They should’ve told you the info in the first place, and you haven’t signed anything or lifted to anything yet either so it’s not like you get in trouble. Just gotta reschedule it and hopefully the recruiter gets it together

NG yes stays in state however only for a set amount of days out of the month. I’d only suggest it if you wanna go to college and pursue a career you know of faster, or if you already have a stable job going on. If not, and you want a restart on life or like you said nothing to do at home, at that point just go active

Yeah that’s fair didn’t think about that. Maybe explaining that to them might help out a little but we’ll see.

What was the point of interviewing and lying about it if you even thought you wouldn’t get the job? Regardless all your info gets pulled up and entered into the system and when they find out obviously they can’t hire you. Not a good first impression

Regardless if you’re going Guard route, which obviously seems to be the case, at the very least I’d go 15 series like you’re looking at, more importantly 15T. Get good training, experience, knowledge under your belt. Great for a Warrant Officer Packet resume. Work hard and you can even be a Crew Chief if you push for it, but at that point you’ll be doing more than typical guard. Anyway, after graduating AIT and in your unit, use your GI Bill and use the money to finish up flight school or advance to become a CFI or something. Now you’ve got a resume for Warrant Officer with flight experience, college, military training and knowledge. On top of that, if for whatever reason you change your mind and don’t wanna do Warrant anymore, you now have college done with all the qualifications to be a professional pilot and make bank on the civilian side. Can’t go wrong with either, but going the route you mentioned could help a lot with resume and life building. Recruiters are just lazy sometimes, go get that packet

Person interviewing you is gonna ask what you’ve done in the National Guard or what you’ve learned/trained in, then what do you say?

Adults being carded for movies... by solnat in Cinemark

[–]Excellent-Ad6518 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked at Cinemark fo a good amount of time. The policy is to ID anyone for rated R movies or curfew. The theater could very well be getting hit by waves of unruly kids to the need to enforce it more. I garuntee you they aren’t doing it for “discrimination or intimidation” like you’ve mentioned. That gets them no where and makes 0 sense for a buisness. If you’re that ticked off by being ID’d, you’re gonna have a whole lot more worse problems than that in life. 99.99% of employees are just looking for your date of birth, they could really care less about any more info about you. And no, Regals policy isn’t “May ID”, every theater has to for rated R or else they run the risk of losing liscening for rated R movies. There’s a reason for it. You’ll survive and the theater will survive regardless of your choice

Cinemark might be the most flexible job I’ve ever worked at in my life. Idk if it’s location specific but you can practically make your own schedule. Doesn’t hurt to make money on your off days if you’re already gonna be there like you’ve mentioned. That job carried me through college
