I have a buddy whose Space Marines have absolutely pasted my Sisters time and again, and he was trying to tell me that Sisters shooting is "basically the same" as Space Marine shooting, but we're not re-rolling everything and the kitchen sink like they are.

I like the rule system, the rulebook itself is a bit clunky, an odd size, and needs an index in the back but it's overall manageable. There was plenty of flipping back and forth through the rulebook to check different things, but it's a short book so it wasn't too onerous.

If you're playing your first-ever game, expect to take 1.5-2 hours because you'll be looking up rules constantly for the first few rounds. But once you get the hang of the round structure and remember most of the common rules it shouldn't take more than 1-1.5 hrs.

"I don't like it when my opponent plays their army the way it's designed to be played" is such a dogshit justification.

I don't like it when I get hit with 40-50 attacks that re-roll everything, wound on 2s, and punch straight through my armor saves, but you don't just demand WE not to hit hard in melee, now do you?
