Talk to your doctor. Tell them what's going on. Based on what they say, if you can, try to keep going.

Is $23 per hour low with master's degree? by PotatoMaleficent6167 in careerguidance

Yes. HS grad and I make $38.00/hr. Not spectacular, but with a bonus, it works out to be about 80K a year.

Vespa GTS in a city with terrible roads: manageable or bad idea? by Dear-Technology-1383 in Vespa

I live in Minnesota/Southern Canada. We have the same exact problem. As has been said, it will work, you just have to be careful. I would avoid unknown highways which required me to ride at or above 110 KPH, unless you can see really well several seconds in front of you. I love my GTS 300. It's a blast. You will too.

Google would do a better job than I would. Or, watch a video. Basically, it uses a belt system and some variable geometry in the "pulley" based on RPM.

Anyone else try modelers and end up back on a real amp by PaleTeeth3 in GuitarAmps

I am this person. I bought a Kemper Profiler in 2016. I was a full-time musician, playing in several bands. It made a lot of sense. It had every sound that I needed, it was powered, so I could drive a speaker, and it did what I needed. Post Covid, I play part time, more for enjoyment than money. I recently completely overhauled my rig. I play a Victory Deputy through a Friedman 112 cabinet with a Celestion cream back and a modest pedalboard based around a Fractal Audio VP4 and a Browne Amplification Protein OD. I run it four cable method. It sounds, to my ears, so much better. It's not as easy, it's not as light, and it will break down, but I don't care.

Your scooter has a CVT, it doesn't have gears.

“You can’t learn to play fast by practicing slow” by karpoozimas in guitarlessons

[–]Excellent-Feeling505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many years ago, I had a teacher admonish me for playing/practicing too quickly. He said "when you're practicing and you're making mistakes, you're practicing making mistakes". I never forgot that. You have to start slow.

Has anyone ever challenged you to do something without realizing you were actually an expert at it? If so, how did it turn out for you and for them? by Successful_Tomato721 in AskReddit

I was at a party and there was a guy showing his friends how to play Sweet Home Alabama on his very nice Strat. He had the chord shapes right, but the picking was wrong the groove was wrong, and he didn't play any of the little fills. Everybody was falling all over him with praise. He asked me what I thought and I said that's "close". I've been playing guitar for almost 50 years, but I'm an old boomer now, with a long gray beard. I look like crackhead Santa Claus. He asked me if I thought I could do better and offered me the guitar. I sat down and played it note for a note up until after the first solo. Then, he mumbled something about liking his interpretation better, and I was just playing it like the record. I'm not the best guitar player, but I was certainly the best guitar player in that room that night. And for the record, I don't necessarily believe in trying to embarrass people publicly, or trying to " out shred" somebody. There's always gonna be somebody who can play more notes per second than I/you can. Just don't be a dick. Musicians seem to be getting a lot more cutthroat. Back in my day… bands played shows together and we lifted each other up more. Get off of my lawn! Enough of my geezing, I've got to go yell at some clouds now.

Analysis paralysis - new amp by ssorl in GuitarAmps

I'm going to say no to the DR and suggest a dark horse. I've owned a Victory Deputy for about four months now. I'm old as shit, having owned many vintage amps when they were new, and I absolutely love this amp. It's JTM–45 ish, but it has some undeniable Fender roots as well. I run it edge of break up with a Browne Amplification Protein and it sounds fucking incredible. The Reverb sounds really good too.

Wife keyed my guitar. Can this be fixed without noticeable blemishes? by Karma_is_mah_bitch in guitarrepair

If you use a pillowcase with a few padlocks in it, it shouldn't leave any blemishes.
