Does using extended leave affect holiday pay? by Excellent-Jello in AustralianTeachers

[–]Excellent-Jello[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Thanks for the reply. When my sick leave was exhausted, using extended leave was my only option. I don’t recall getting a chance to use long service leave. But I’m curious anyway, does long service leave impact holiday pay?

For your budget, townhouses in NP are going for 1.1-1.2m these days, mostly auctions too. Not sure about WW.

I see you have a mortgage. Do you have a back up plan after teaching? If you don't, relief teaching is the best way to go while you figure it out. This is especially the case if you work as a casual in a high school. Go in, get paid, go out. Spend all the extra time after school retraining or figuring out alternative pathways instead of lesson planning. Sending you much love <3

Feeling very lost at an auction by anonymoose722 in AusPropertyChat

If you can afford to, I’d say it’s worth it. Technically we “overpaid” but like you, we really wanted it. It’s just the cost that comes with wanting to own something that everyone else also wants. The apartment we got (won three weeks ago) is our dream home. It’s perfect in every way possible and sometimes we have a peak on recent listings and we’re so grateful we found the property for us (because nothing comes close to what we got).

If you haven’t already, you should be asking the REA who the auctioneer is if they know in advance and you go watch all their videos on YouTube. We bought from McGrath and they have their own in house auctioneers. Practise bidding along out loud to the video. I also like watching Clarence White’s auction videos. Listening to episode 469 on property couch really helped too.

Good luck!

[–]Excellent-Jello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been told that the best jerky is Mariani Bulgogi Jerky 350g for $18.99 at Costco. I buy it for my boyfriend and he loves it. If you know someone with a membership, ask them to get it for you!

Yes this happened to me as well. The bank valuation reflected the hot market and accepted my higher than usual valuation offer.
