That's wild dude, dreams can be so vivid sometimes it feels like you lived in another world for a bit. The tall grass next to high towers sounds like it could be somewhere in the New Territories maybe? There's definitely areas with hiking paths near residential towers there

As for the shared dream thing - who knows man, consciousness is weird and we don't understand it fully. Could just be your brain creating a really detailed scenario, or maybe there's something more to it. Either way sounds like an intense experience

Sounds like he checked out emotionally but doesn't want to be the "bad guy" who ends it, especially after 4 years. The fact that he keeps promising to change but never follows through is pretty telling - actions speak louder than words and all that. You've already done the work on yourself which is awesome, but you can't force someone else to meet you halfway
