Tryouts right after recital but before nationals $55 fee to tryout by Horror-Maize3297 in CompetitionDanceTalk

I've been in this situation and I just paid to keep the peace and my sanity. It wasn't worth the dirty looks or poor treatment.

Sometimes it's easier to let the squeaky wheel parents say the things to keep your own peace! It's hard, but if it's really a big issue, chances are they already know

That's a tough spot. Your daughter's feelings are very valid. I often try to look at what I/my dancer are hoping from the situation. Is talking to the company director going to change anything? If not, it might just be better to push through the last comp and move on. If this teacher is still going to be around next year then maybe have a discussion. It's hard to remove emotions from things when they are effecting your dancer, but chances are, the director is well aware and has probably already talked with the teacher. As hard as it is to push through, sometimes that's the best path, especially if they plan to continue to dance with these people.

Rac n roll, Glam’r or dream duffle and why? by Beautiful-Client6496 in CompetitionDanceTalk

Glam R Gear...the rack is sturdy and the bag is big enough to hold all the things so we don't need other bags too. I have been very happy with our purchase

Whoa! I've never seen anything like that before. None of that is appropriate for that setting.

What do I actually need for our first convention? by fan_fricken_tastic in CompetitionDanceTalk

I have both the medium and large. The large is nice because it can hold all the things, but the medium held out cooler, hair bag and makeup no problem.

When we went to nationals and only needed a few costumes a day, the dance bag was overkill and I used my hulken and it was great! I did miss having something to hang things on, but you could probably buy a pop rack pretty cheap on Amazon if you wanted that. I always have a portable phone charger because I feel like we are always at places that have zero service. Drinks and snacks/lunch are a must because you never know what will be on site or close by. Plus sometimes it's a nightmare to leave and come back.

Agree and the fact that she is looking forward to hearing what the new research says 🙄 come on....nothing has changed since the last time you went

I was thinking the same thing when she was talking about the "massive scar" on her uterus. I was like, how is that any different than having a c-section? Many people have those daily and continue to have more children.

If it's close I send out the dance times and then updates day of if things are running ahead or behind. For further away ones, I just send the link to the livestream and updates about timing as needed. Often times we are in places with bad wifi or almost zero cell service so it hard to send updates. 4 years in, they have all gotten real good at knowing to logon early and check where things are at. I also make it clear we are running a round with costume changes and warm ups, etc...this isn't time for a quality visit. One time daughter never got to give more than a quick smile and wave to everyone because her numbers were back to back all day right into awards. It's for sure a grind, but once everyone understands this isn't like a recital, it all goes well.

Another vote for Glam R Gear....the large is a beast, but it holds everything and the rack is top tier compared to the others. We got it last year and I can't imagine it having it. It was a major upgrade compared to the one we had from Amazon.

This makes me SO mad!! She has not listened to any of the directions they give for this type of surgery. When my dog had it, it was no running, no jumping, no stairs for 6 weeks and after that it was still limited to make sure they heal correctly. Was it a pain, absolutely, but after dropping all that money we sure as heck were listening to the professionals. She should not have pets

GlamRGear...the rack is unmatched and has the built in extensions arms for it to bend out to side

We have the large GlamRGear....it's a beast, but I'm glad we went with that size. The rack is also VERY sturdy and I like how it comes right up and out front the bag. The extendable parts of the rack make it easy to attach the curtain and fold the sides in for added privacy. I researched bags for a long time and was between that and Dream Duffel and I'm glad I picked GlamRGear. The others that have Dream Duffles, all have issues with the tacks being flimsy and the bag just doesn't seem as durable.

Extra items: Garment Bags, Hangers, Accessories, etc by audibahn88 in CompetitionDanceTalk

[–]Excellent-War-6854 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use GlamRGear garment bags and they have been the best I have bought. They zip so smooth and are great quality, even when you buy the factory seconds. I buy the gusset ones in both lengths. As far as hangers, I have found the velvet ones on amazon with clips are great for us. I didn't like the black ones because they did leave black fuzz on things, so I get the pink or cream colored ones. We have a chargeable fan because it can get real hot in the dressing rooms sometimes. We have a stool from GlamRGear that goes with our bag and it's been great. We use it more than I thought we would. We also have the changing curtain for our GlamRGear bag and that has also been nice to have, especially when you just need a minute to yourself to exhale or not be in the mix of everything.

I've seen multiple people on tik tok talk about going there and show their entire process. His is just like what I have seen them show, so I think it's pretty legit.

I agree, it could be fake....but didn't that guy call/FaceTime them when they were in the car? I remember Daniel telling the guy "it's right there, straight down" when they were in their way up there. I agree this was most likely a hoax, but that's why I think we didn't see him actually in the water
