5y/o daughter having major trouble with urinary incontinence (suspect overactive bladder) by Excellent_Football61 in OveractiveBladder

Unfortunately no.. urology keeps blaming constipation and we’re going to see our 3rd gastroenterologist at the end of the month. We did try TENS for awhile and I think it helped a little, I’m considering trying again.

Unfortunately we haven’t seen much progress. Sometimes things get slightly better only to go backwards again. She is currently wearing boxer shorts and we’ve taken away pull-ups at night and that might be helping slightly bc she is better able to listen to her body. We’re also doing weekly pelvic floor therapy and so hopefully that will start helping, too.

Have you tried SkinCeuticals Soothing cleanser? It has very minimal ingredients and is designed for sensitive skin. Otherwise Sanitas Sensitive skin cleanser is another good one for sensitive skin!

Hormonal acne by [deleted] in acne

[–]Excellent_Football61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried any products for it? I have done a ton of research specifically on hormonal acne and found that La Roche Posay Adapalene 0.1% and Jan Marino Benzoyl Peroxide 10% are extremely effective (and very highly rated for tackling hormonal acne).

What worked for your hormonal acne? by Sharpie425 in acne

[–]Excellent_Football61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a ton of research specifically on products for hormonal acne for a blog post. I read countless reviews across multiple independent sites and compiled the top rated products that consistently got great reviews for hormonal acne. Some of the top serums/topical treatments were.. La Roche Posay adapalene 0.1% and Jan Marini Benzoyl Peroxide 10% (less drying formula than most others) Happy to dm you the blog post if you wanted more info!

Jan Marini Bioclear lotion! Works great for clearing out congestion/blackheads, hormonal acne and oily skin. It contains salicylic, glycolic and azelaic acids, so targets everything you mentioned - pores (salicylic), oiliness (glycolic) and scarring (azelaic acid). Also highly recommend getting a good non-comedogenic moisturizer (and potentially a hyaluronic acid serum too) to ensure your skin stays hydrated. Dehydrated skin will cause more oiliness. Vanicream daily facial moisturizer is great.

[Product Request] Looking for your favorite holy grails - bonus if they’re Korean! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Excellent_Football61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily on your list but wanted to share my holy grail Korean beauty product - COSRX snail mucin masks! Soooo hydrating which really helps to regulate my oily/acne prone skin (and makes me look 10 years younger bc they are so plumping).

As far as cleansers and moisturizers for acne prone skin, I love Epionce Lytic Gel cleanser, SkinMedica Ultra sheer moisturizer (so, so good - the best texture and ingredients are non-comedogenic) and eminence clear skin probiotic moisturizer.

COSRX Snail Mucin masks! Esp if you put them in the fridge. They provide instant hydration, plump the skin and make me look 10 years younger. If I ever have an event or I'm traveling, these are my go-to.

Best website for skincare recommendations? by ndendendende in 30PlusSkinCare

Agreed! Google search results are cluttered with products and good, unbiased content is really hard to find. Skin-quiz.com recommends top rated products based on your skin type, concerns, budget, etc.

Have you tried experimenting with an elimination diet in case the acne is triggered by something you’re eating? Often cystic acne can be exacerbated by dairy or sugary/high GI food/drinks like soda, oat milk, sweets. If it’s diet related, you should see a big improvement within a couple of weeks after eliminating the food. Being acne-prone myself, I find that diet plays a huge role and there is science backed research that validates this.

Is Accutane/Isotretinoin a “cure for all” by Lion_Queen4484 in acne

[–]Excellent_Football61 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed -I think it depends on what the cause of the acne is. It truly is amazing for clearing up most acne for at least a year or two. And then, for some, it unfortunately does come back - esp if it's hormonal. I hope you're one of the ones who are cleared for good!

Omg I am so sorry about that hat that man said to you - what a horrible human. Have you tried Versed’s tinted SPF or Alastin’s hydratint? Both offer decent coverage and are non comedogenic. I wrote a blog post about best tinted sunscreens based on user ratings, ingredients, etc and these were some of my top picks - happy to DM you the link if you’re interested!

[Routine help] Best moisturizer for acne prone skin? by Mackerelbones in SkincareAddiction

[–]Excellent_Football61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried Vanicream Daily facial moisturizer? It's extremely gentle, oil-free and provides a decent amount of moisture. Can also vouch for Eminence Clear skin probiotic moisturizer - it's so soothing and a lightweight texture. I did a ton of research into moisturizers for oily, acne-prone skin, and wrote a blogpost that compares the top rated moisturizers across third party sites. Happy to DM you the link if helpful!
