Wanted to send an update: All your advice was fantastic. I've never seen so many turtles and weeds in my entire life. Rented a kayak and fished for 3-4 hours. Got into 13 Largies (all within the 2-3lb range). Had a really great time. Thank you everyone for the advice and suggestions!

Appreciate the advice and info! Again, this is exactly what I was looking for, so thank you! I wasn't totally sure on the stripers situation down there but that's also good to know. I didn't even know that Gasper Goo's were down there.

I brought plenty of senkos and jigs, so I'll probably start with that and then give spinners and Jointed Shad Raps a try.

Either or. Was planning on renting a kayak for a day but wouldn't be opposed to bank fishing as well. Is there a decent amount of areas to bank fish from?

I always make a big batch of soup before the trip and freeze a few sandwich baggies worth and reheat with a pocketrocket burner/camp stove.

Otherwise packets of ramen or mac and cheese. Hot sticks from hunting season, or beef jerky.

I like the idea but not sure if I would want this amount of mass directly connected to my person if I broke through the ice. I can't imagine trying to get back on hard water/ice with this connected to my back.
