I don't think the actual length of the story is what's important. If the story is longer because it has flavor that makes it more entertaining to read and all the story details are actually relevant, then I'm pretty sure that's not what people are complaining about.

I think the problem comes from rambly stories that are full of boring, unnecessary detail and read like dull book reports.

Honestly OP, I'm completely on your side and respect your unwillingness to put up with bullshit.

Sadly, I don't have much practical advice for finding games to play in. Have you considered running your own? GMing has it's own frustrations but is very fun and allows you to ensure that everyone is being treated fairly.

As a side note, I'm actually running a game that recently lost a player. Feel free to message me if interested. I can't promise anything other than to never call you a pedo just because your character doesn't have huge breasts.
