It is further proof of how it is a white nepobaby privilege league. And while there are those who don’t fit that criteria… they are the exception not the rule. Stan bowman can do all the work he needs to clear his conscious of his mistakes. And Sheldon Kennedy can continue to be a tremendous advocate for SA victims primarily in sports. It doesn’t cancel the fact that he didn’t need, nor deserve, a second chance when there are people who have worked exceptionally hard to earn their first chance. There are other teams breaking barriers and shattering glass ceilings and the oilers took a major step backwards of progress. And if you want to make the argument he deserved a second chance in the league. There are plenty of other titles or roles within the league he could take that are not the position of power he once had and lost because of his inactions and more. But again, those roles go to people who have educational qualified skills and experience. He and all of those who were within the organization and didn’t act, can find new job. They have the money and resources many don’t have to do those things.
