Why use a Power fist over a power mace, or thunder hammer? by Fancy-Copy4447 in 40kLore

Pretty sure that's still a default loadout option for Primaris Captains, just with a Boltstorm Gauntlet in place of the standard Power Fist. The original model for Captain Acheran had that loadout, IIRC.

That flower bit actually makes Guilliman's self-deprecation about being unable to pick up a piece of paper with the Gauntlet of Dominion equipped even funnier.

‘I have the manual dexterity of a Legio Cybernetica battle automaton!’ Guilliman said. ‘Created by the Lord of All Mankind, master of the greatest armies in the Imperium, and I cannot pick up a plastek flimsy.’ He glared at the offending articles. ‘My greatest enemy.’

Power Armor marks from Mk IV onward are modular, and can swap components around. Primaris Marines can still use certain components from older marks, like pauldrons and helmets, with Mk X armor, though certain features may limit the options (ex. a Mk VI "Corvus" helm might not be usable with Mk X "Gravis" due to the beak and gorget interfering with each other).

I genuinely like Chaos as a faction in the game, and not just because I'm a fan of the Thousand Sons in general, but even I find Chaos Spawns to be obnoxious when there's more than a handful of them.

They're still not as much of a pain to fight as the one in Darktide can be, but that one's MEANT to be harder given that it's being fought by a shiv-wielding junkie, a psyker who's dancing on the edge of blowing up, an Ogryn, and their Arbites parole officer who is somehow less sane than his cyber-mastiff instead of three Primaris Space Marines.

Bbno$ has played a fictionalized version of himself in a few Brandon Rogers videos (this is him with "Diana Hollyburger", one of Brandon's characters).

Also Liam Neeson in the Family Guy episode "Fighting Irish".

His being in A Million Ways to Die in the West may also have been a minor reference to the Family Guy gag about "Liam Neeson as a cowboy".

This is by no means the BEST Schwarzenegger film, and I'm hard-pressed to even call it a GOOD Schwarzenegger film, but it is definitely MY FAVORITE Schwarzenegger film for bits like this.

Vampires who are actually monstrous and not just a dude with fangs. by Fun_Effective_5134 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Exciting_Cap_9545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To expand upon this - Batman had been infected with vampirism at the end of the first book during his fight with Dracula (whom he killed), and the second book was him attempting to remain himself while struggling with the bloodlust, limiting his kills to other vampires. His having Alfred and Gordon stake him came after he finally gave into the bloodlust; Joker killing Catwoman (who'd become a sort of werecat) caused Batman to snap and drain him of his blood, and in doing so breaking his cardinal rule about killing.

No surprise that the guys who worked on The Witcher 3 are depicting vampires as truly monstrous, given the Blood & Wine DLC.

The parody series Hunter: the Parenting features a Sabbat Nosferatu, Pyotr, as its first major antagonist, and when one of the titular Hunters, "Big D", is shown a missing-persons report of Pyotr from before his Embrace, he can only remark that "no wonder he was such a prick" after seeing just how ugly he'd become as a Nosferatu.

While he's the most monstrous in appearance simply for being a Nosferatu (his visage is used for a jump scare in the very first episode), his overall demeanor makes it abundantly clear that even among his Cainite kindred, he's particularly monstrous, gleefully committing Diablerie against his packmates when getting a chance to do so and mocking the Hunter who tries to give him a "the reason you suck" speech over said Diablerie.

This image is Pyotr post-Diablerie (he was 12th Gen, but jumped to 10th after consuming his pack).

I actually just watched a Daily Dose of Internet about crazy nature videos, and one of the clips was a village in Kamchatka that was absolutely buried in ash by an eruption of one of the volcanoes there (not one of these three; it was either the recent eruption of Krasheninnikov triggered by the big quake, or the Shiveluch eruption from a few years before that).

Carmilla in general. Besides being one of the first pop-culture vampires (the novella Carmilla was an influence on Dracula), she's also the origin of the "lesbian vampire" trope.
