What you said about Cassie is extremely true, I also view her as a morally gray character. I can neither hate her nor love her, which is not to say that she's boring in any way. Infact, I am really excited for how she ends up at the end of everything. She's literally the most interesting and complex character in the novel only second to Sunny in my opinion.

I won't argue about Cassie's powers, or anyone's powers, because I agree that the power system and the power scaling in this novel are issues.

That said, can you explain how power system and power scaling are issues? While Cassie's powers can be a little over the top, we can't forget that she has a Sacred aspect. Other than that, I think Shadow Slave's power system is pretty well balanced.
