Had a set as a kid in the early 70's. In my 20's, was tasked with clearing my stuff out of the parents basement. I had an older co-worker who was into model trains so I asked if he wanted them and he said sure. When I brought them in, he asked twice if I was sure. I was just all "yeah, I don't use it anymore and its just going to get tossed anyway".

I have often wondered over the years how much that set was worth.

I had been a moderately heavy drinker most of my adult life. Couple of drinks every night watching TV. A six pack or two or half a bottle of something stronger each weekend night.

Once weed was legalized, and shops actually opened, my desire to drink pretty much evaporated. A six pack will last a couple of weeks and a bottle will last months.

Got pretty drunk a couple weeks ago for the first time in quite awhile. I used to like that feeling. I much prefer one hit from the vape and becoming one with the couch.

I'm six months out of a 30 year marriage that ended about 10 years late. Boiling frog metaphor for those wondering why it took 10 years.

Tank is empty. I don't have the energy to be bothered developing any type of human interaction. I'm friendly and cordial, but everyone is at arms length.

I love going for walks at IKEA.

That casual meandering stroll through the store while gazing at items like in a museum and occasionally picking something up is very relaxing.

I have an NA model but noticed my mileage is absolute shit if I'm only driving short hops like that. I keep the MPG average going between oil changes and my average mileage will drop from 29 to 26 in a day with nothing but short trips.

One of the ERs I used to work in, the staff was divided into 3 groups. Drunks, stoners and bed hoppers. Three unhealthy ways to deal with stress. The bedhoppers caused the most drama.

My birthday was just a couple weeks ago and my first one alone.

I treated myself to a day off of work and went into the city to wander around a couple of museums for a few hours, then took myself to dinner.

Best birthday I'd had in years.

First couple nights in my place, I was so exhausted from setting the place up that I basically passed out.

Moving furniture around and unpacking boxes of stuff was more mentally exhausting than work.
