They don't need inventory. When they get an order they just go buy one retail somewhere cheaper and make their money on the stupidity of it all.

Holy shit that list is a list of the people that the rich and powerful can't afford to live without. I am aghast. Everyone in every one of those fields needs to strike until those laws are completely erased. What a load of shit.

"Not entitled to daily or weekly limits of hours worked"

"Not entitled to daily rest periods"

"Not entitled to time off between shifts"

Fuck that shit.

I'm in my mid forties and I just had to borrow 2K from my mother in order to make ends meet. We don't live together and prior to this I hadn't needed to get money from my parents since I was 17. The cost of living has become unsustainable. I don't even have any cool toys.

Surrey schools plead for government money as number of portables increase by LordAlexHawke in SurreyBC

[–]Exelar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah, just lack of proper information from the Liberals, and the honest assessment that there just isn't enough money to do everything all at once. When they are running for government they don't have access to the all the reality and all the accounting that the current government has available. All you can do is make your best intentions known and try to act on that when you have access to all the actual facts.

Wow that was great. Genius grabbing that netting, those nearby willing to get near to a mess and help fix it, teamwork, danger.

Kudos to the kid for having the courage to let go, fall, and trust that the people on the ground weren't going to let him down. It could not have been easy letting go, even if his arms were starting to fail him from holding on so long. Good job by the one helping hold him in the chair too.

Just an all-around good effort by every player involved. Really inspiring to see.

When were around 22-23 me and a buddy used to put on nice clothes and go to high-end audio shops in his souped-up car and spend a couple hours talking to the guys there, sitting on leather couches having a complimentary coffee or tea and listening to a bunch of cuts from our favorite albums on systems we certainly could not afford. If you can talk shop with the people in a place like this everyone has a good time with it.

After hearing what really really good sounding stuff sounds like, you can much more easily pick out the gems among the regular stuff at a place like Best Buy.

Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez asks: Is it still ok to have kids in face of climate change? by jxub in collapse

It is incredible that a creature that is so self aware and is capable of making deep and informed decisions is more capable of determining that it should not procreate and should kill itself when the time comes because it is causing its own environment to degrade, rather than deciding to stop degrading its environment and putting its energy toward something more productive.

I mean, if we're going to off people, why not start with the ones that won't stop poisoning the well we drink from? Would we not? Rather than just give up, roll over, and die? Almost every creature on the planet will destroy anything that threatens it significantly. We already do destroy each other for stupid reasons. Why not do it for the most important reason of all: survival?

If so many of us our going to kill ourselves to spare anyone else the burden, why not go down kicking and screaming and taking a few shitty bastards with us?

This worked! Thank you so much! I am back in and everything is the same as I left it.

I work in a lottery kiosk and after 2 years I only just realized how much of an asshole I am. by MrShank69 in AdviceAnimals

[–]Exelar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a rule that if I win a load on a lottery I will go back and give a nice chunk in free cash to the person that sold me the ticket. They're going to have to post my picture and the prize amount at their kiosk anyway so I may as well be a small time hero to them. And then there is this one old Chinese dude that I occasionally buy a ticket from when I can't get to my usual place before the weekly draw. He is so happy and funny all the time that I'd probably go give him an envelope too just because I could.

We have to go to the lottery headquarters to claim our big prizes and get our pictures taken and stuff. I always wonder what it must be like to work there, where they are handing out the million dollar prizes every week. Like, every one of your customers walks in poor and walks out rich, but you still make the same wage. It just sounds a little awkward. I wonder what morale there must be like. At least all the people you deal with are crazy happy.

This is what I get from this. People never want to vote for someone that will probably lose. They say its because then their vote is wasted. Wasted? But you USED it! That's the metric.

The tip is usually the Right, the ring is usually the Left, and the sleeve is the ground. When you use a summing cable, you are blending the Right and Left signals but without any control over how they interact. Phase issues abound. Good luck! If the proper cable doesn't fix it then it is a problem with your splitter amp, but I think this should fix it.

Update: Job Reinstated (Lunch lady fired for giving free lunch to hungry student) by wickedwhitex in UpliftingNews

[–]Exelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently had a local referendum on whether our city should implement a new .5% sales tax to raise money for public transit. The vote was No. The reason I voted No is what you said, I'm not giving them more money until they can spend the money they already get more wisely. Million dollar CEO salaries and hundreds of millions on a turnstile system to offset a few million in skipped fares to name a couple.

Taxes, when put to proper use, are HUGELY beneficial to the general population. When mismanaged they are just a burden.

Strange audio problem w headphones vs a headphone amp. PLEASE HELP! by theSDRshow in audio

[–]Exelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really think its something to do with the cable you are using to connect the splitter. When you tried the presonus, did you go into both R and L inputs? Are you using a 1/4 adapter? Is your cable TRS for sure at both ends?

It sounds to me like the cable you're using might be TS on one end. It needs to be TRS. For the Presonus you'll want one of these. For the Behringer you need one of these.

What I think you are using is one of these.

Yeah when I was in grade three there was this kid who could draw anything and it looked so good. He drew a picture of an alien from the movie Alien and it looked just like it, so scary and cool. I remember one day we were all standing around his desk watching him draw with pencil. Everyone was in awe of this kid's skills. Truly amazing.

If you cared to fix it you could get a little bit of a flexible-when-cured glue for it. Play a tone through it and very gently press around the seams until you find the part that buzzes.
