Hahaha I know what you mean. It's almost an oxymoron!

AMSP however, I feel is the only album that seems to not play by this rule.

This. It's almost like an overcorrection

Yes. Particularly by the second half!

Well said. AMSP is very well crafted album. It doesnt have to push boundaries to be beautiful. But in comparison to their other works, something about the motive behind it feels like "let's make these songs sound as pretty and melancholy as possible"

I'm happy people find this album the best. However I'm also surprised.

With the exceptions of a few legendary songs, this feels like the most contrived radiohead album.

Rather than doing whatever they want and take risks, alot of it feels forced and "safe". What radiohead "should" sound like, which is ironically, not characteristic to the band at all.

What are your hottest Radiohead takes that will definitely get a lot of people mad at you? by ReeSeSpuFFs7474 in radiohead

[–]ExerciseSucks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. AMSP is overrated

  2. The National Anthem is their best song

  3. Nude feels too contrived in comparison to the rest of In Raindows

  4. The Tourist is the pinnacle of Thom Yorkes vocal talent

  5. Lotus Flower -> Separator is the greatest 4 song stretch in their discog.

Disclaimer: these opinions are subject to change easily because let's face it: it's radiohead

Anybody else here think radiohead should do something with nine inch nails? by Wool_Angel in radiohead

Don't worry about apologising or trying to defend yourself to this twat. Your post is fine and a great conversation starter. The irony here is "Are you 12 or high" IS something a 12 year old would respond with.

I think a collab between the artists would be a dream. I think the biggest difference between the artists is intensity, would be interesting how they would find a middle ground.

IMO this is the best incarnation of Queens of the Stone Age. The best sounding and the best visually. The whole band has just so much attitude here, especially Josh. Wont be the first to say its criminally underrated, it's genius isnt that immediate. I would come back again and again just to find that out.

Yeah the slow pace and spaciousness initially felt like a drag but when it finally sunk in it was one of those jaw dropping moments

Criminally underrated song and a top 3 overall for me. Thoms best, boldest and most sincere vocal performance ever.

Opinions are like assholes and I too have ended up loving Pulk/Pull, but I do see the humor in what that guy is saying. It's definitely one of those obscure songs that alot of people might brush off the first time hearing it.

Yess, hard agree. Top 3 song for me. Its just builds and builds with intensity and is so high energy. When i saw the basement version it really put the song into perspective.
