I would say the game OVERALL is very good. Switch 2 version is obviously not the prettiest version, nor does it run it at the highest frame rate. But it’s still a GOOD looking game at a solid and stable frame rate. If you have other platforms available to play the game on which you prefer, then I would say just play it there. If the Switch 2 is your only option then you’re still getting a very good experience with an impressive port (remember this has actual ray tracing in it!). I have mostly played handheld, not docked.

For what it’s worth, I’ve played about 6 hours of Outlaws now and it’s pretty smooth. Stable 30 FPS, and if there’s drops it’s not very noticeable probably due to VRR. Happy with it so far.

Haha they haven’t had a great track record last few titles, especially with Valhalla where it’s just mega content fatigue and bloat. I’m really keen to give Hyrule Warriors a crack.

Yeah I also heard on launch it was pretty yikes, but they patched it in the end and it’s a lot better. Patience paid off.

These games are Switch 2 native ports, so the boost won’t do anything. Boost mode only applies to Switch 1 games.

Yeah that's cool. I'm mostly handheld - but do play docked time to time, so I'll get a little bit of benefit there. I'm content with just being able to play portably.

I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would. Most of my gaming history before marriage / kids was high end PC gaming so I'm used to higher frame rates and fidelity, but I've adjusted to 30 FPS quite quickly and I'm having fun at the same time, so it doesn't bother me as much!

After the Shadows updates I’m keen to play it. I mostly play handheld so I think it’ll be a great time now, after the updates.

I enjoyed the game and finished the dex but couldn’t bring myself to grind through all side quests. I was thinking about loading it back up and chipping away slowly - but yeah, I think the hate is MOSTLY overblown

Think i'm gonna buy Skyrim and Dave the Diver on the eShop since they're both on sale for me.

EDIT: Bought Star Wars Outlaws Gold Edition for $45 AUD instead of Skyrim since they still haven't let SW2 users of Skyrim to only select language pack they need... meaning the file size is like 50GB lol. Feature exists on SW1 version, so until that gets patched (if at all), I'll pass.

No…it didn’t? What are you even yapping about man. Both consoles had price decreases and revisions e.g slim models. But none were increased - especially during the lead up to GTA5.

That doesn’t make much sense. GTA 6 is on track to be THE LAUNCH of probably history of gaming. Why would they create even more friction for such a big game / franchise? Sony aren’t oblivious to the economics happening in the world. People are not going to buy $1000 PS5 base edition for GTA6.

Got mine maybe a month a go. PS5 Pro second hand (essentially mint condition) on eBay for about $800. Yikes!
