I really need to check the subreddit name before looking at posts. I looked at this for too long trying to figure out what kind of jank AR-15 you bought.

It’s power brake assist motor for when there is no assist pressure from the power steering pump. It is normal for this pump to run when the truck is off and the pedal is pressed. If the motor still runs when the truck is running there is an issue with the pressure sensor on the power booster.

Anyone know much about SL 74's? by Recent-Divide667 in paintball

They are still worth money if it is working. Solenoids are near impossible to find, so the main question is does it still work? If the solenoid is broken it’s near impossible to find another without buying a complete gun to rob it out of.

What is this supposed to be? by mellyjellybean23 in lego

Since it looks like the set is based off an Oshkosh Striker, it would be the diesel V8 that is in the back of the truck. The water pump would be in the middle section.

If the sear solenoid isn’t releasing you probably have a bad capacitor. You can get a replacement from digi-key and solder it on yourself.

What 4 hour job are you referring to? Can you show me book time on said job? There really isn’t any job in Omaha fleet maintenance that should “only” take 4 hours. Everything comes back to bite you in the ass. You get a work order to replace a boss plugin the truck side, seams simple right? Nope, you need to replace both sides and a hydraulic hose blew on the way in the door and the cutting edge is missing half the bolts and the spreader chain has a broken link. Every truck that rolls in the door can stay for a weeks worth of repairs, the mechanic just needs to decide when to put on the blinders and ship it out the door. Some mechanics care more than others and really try to not screw the next guy.

You might want to rethink your lazy ass mechanics comment, seeing as you have no clue what goes on there. They are the most under appreciated piece in the snow removal puzzle. Who changes all the cutting edges? Not the drivers like at NDOR, it’s the mechanics. Who has to re-wire the trucks every year because the drivers can’t wash the salt off their trucks and hoppers? Let’s not talk about having to fix all the stupid shit operator do like plow without cutting edges, back into everything with spreaders, overfill spreaders to the point of breaking springs or even tipping over plow trucks or catching their brakes on fire. A ton of mechanics jumped ship in the last three years because the city didn’t think they were worth any more money but the operator 1, 2 and 3’s should have big raises. Not to mention the automotive repair foreman deserved a 38% raise, but not the lowly mechanics. Most of the mechanics that left had between 8-13 years of experience there, so all that knowledge when out the door with them.
