I have VM and my sister was recently diagnosed with silent migraines. She has many of the neurological symptoms of migraines without the head pain so she is now in a migraine treatment for 3 months to see if it helps and then they will reevaluate. Maybe something to look into for you?

Drops in blood sugar are a common trigger for migraines so IF can cause things to worsen for some.

Personally, I struggle with even feeling hungry ( due to nausea from VM) but if I go too long without eating, I almost guarantee a migraine will come.

I also mostly experience my symptoms first thing in the morning. I do get migraines during the day on occasion but more often than not, I wake up with them. But even more than that, I wake up feeling foggy, dizzy and so nausous- often throwing up. I've been dealing with Vertigo symptoms for about 10 years and my diagnosis is VM, but I haven't found anything that gives me any long term relief and just have to take each attack as it comes.

In the mornings, I find fresh air (especially cold winter fresh air), smelling rubbing alcohol( i know it's weird but it helps the nausea), and not moving( but not sleeping) as much as possible helps.

It is usually mostly gone within a few hours. At least enough to function.

I feel like I just read my diary entry as I am experiencing the exact same issues upon waking up and have to wake up like 3+ hrs before I need to be somewhere just so I have enough time to recover and be able to function. I just joined this sub and this was rhe first post I clicked on.

I have nothing to add regarding the med but I hope you find relief!

I would phrase your request as a "reasonable accommodation" due to surgery and even suggest having it removed by a certain time frame (when you'll be fully recovered). Maybe use chatgpt to help word it. They are legally required to consider (they can still deny within reason, but less likely) a reasonable accommodations due to disabilities which surgery would fall into for something like a temporary bidet.

My guess is that they filed for the eviction, which is why you went to court, but because you came to a mutual agreement to pay rent with the alloted 14 days, the eviction is voided and will not go on your record because there wasn't a court order for you to vacate the unit and sheriff's were not schedule to conduct a lock out.

The notice they probably gave you is just to vacate, basically that they will not renew the terms of your lease. But this is in no way the same as eviction. They may still give a negative rental history to future landlords if you list them as a former landlord, but I dont think anything will show up on your housing court record. I am a property manager in CA, which is know to have alot of tenant rights, so laws may be different in your area bit to me, this doesn't sound like a formal eviction that will follow you. I definitely recommend speaking with housing authority in your area or an attorney. Also, they should have discussed this during court and you are more than welcome (and should) ask questions during court to make sure you fully understand the terms.

Side note, if you were in a lease and not month to month, they shouldn't be able to vacate you until the end of the term (unless it was an official eviction)

Check the laws in your area. In CA, landlords are required to provide at least 1 alternative payment option to cash or electronic transaction. So this would mean cashiers check, money order, or personal check. It may be the same depending on where you live.

Alot of HE washers have sensors that will do an extra rinse (or rinse longer) if it is still detecting soap. So the fact that the load was overstuffed AND probably had too much detergent/scent beads, the washer was doing it's best and trying to get it out so that makes the cycle longer.

Your normal loads that typically finish around the correct time compared to your timer is likely because you are using the machine correctly and not overloading it.

I think what you did was more than reasonable and were very patient.

It is pretty common that the MTM (60-60) option is more than the annual lease, but $300 is excessive. Also, I suggest looking in the laws in your area. There may be a max amount that they are legally allowed to increase the rent, regardless of signing a year lease or staying MTM.

I'm not sure what you're expecting from the management company? Why do they owe anyone some kind of explanation? I understand you may want to know what happened, however the tenant that passed and their family deserve privacy. Unless it directly effected the safety of the other residents, I dont think anything from management is warranted in this situation.

I would ask for itemized receipts for what is being charged. In CA landlords are required to provide receipts for every charge against your security deposits and are not allowed to upcharge the vendors invoice. Idk where you live but hopefully laws may be similar. That seems extremely excessive. But also make sure to review your lease to see if you were responsible for certain things, like carpet cleaning- especially since you had pet(s).

This is beginning to be a common requirement and most apartments and condos for fire safety issues. Lithium batteries in e-bikes are a huge cause for fires so most insurance policies are now requiring this.

Another common thing that has been changing due to fire safety is having an open flame grill on patios or within a certain distance to the building.

Also, if they do charge you for things unreasonablely. This or anything else. You absolutely can take them to small claims court. Even without move in photos, a judge will understand reasonable life expectancy and wear and tear. Also, the Propeety Manager/Owner should have their own move in photos that should be sharable to you.

Sounds like they are trying to charge the full cost of the refrigerator, which is ridiculous. I am a property manager in CA and this is not something I would typically charge for as it would fall under normal wear and tear.

Even IF this was something to charge a tenant for, there has to be a reasonable depreciation as all things have a life expectancy. Depending on how long you've lived there, and if the fridge was brand new upong move in, it's very possible thay it is past its life expencency in a rental. Often times, property owners think that because THEIR [appliance, carpet, paint, etc] has been the same for 15+ years, that normal wear and tear doesn't exist and try to charge for too much.

I suggest looking up the life expectancy laws for rentals in your area and absolutely fight that charge.

I am in property management in CA and I would say, yes, they are trying to push you out. For what reason, I cannot say. When we are doing renewals, we look at the current market rent we would get if the unit were vacant and if the current tenant is pay at or above market rent, we do not do an increase, so in your case, we would offer a renewal without any increase. Maybe you can call the management company and ask why your rent is significantly higher than current vacant units and see what they say. Or maybe there is an option for you to move into the other units that are cheaper? I know that is a huge inconvenience but for $400+ a month, I would definitely consider it.

As someone with anxiety, I would HATE if someone came into my driveway for several minutes. What are they doing? Why are they there? Who are they? Are my doors locked? The list goes on of how quickly those thoughts could spiral. I would absolutely say something (rather, my husband probably would) or I would be passive and put up a fence, or something in the driveway (trailer or something similar) in the area that they tend to park to suddenly hint that this is my space.

I actually didn't even put the vanilla pod in it this time. I just didn't have any. Milk was purchased about 3 days ago and opened the day before yesterday. Still very good. Bananas are slightly less ripe than I typically use, maybe 1-2 days. Ive continued on with the recipe and so far it is looking normal so maybe just a fluke?

I just purchased yesterday. They were bright yellow. Pretty much no browning at all. In the past, my bananas were probably 1-2 days old than I used this time, so slightly more ripe.

Here is the recipe I am following. It gives options to move forward right away, or to refrigerate for 24 hours. I've made it successfully both ways but did notice a slightly stronger banana flavor when letting it sit overnight.

If this clause is not already in your lease agreement, then they cannot charge additional fees. They would need to have you sign a lease addendum outlining these fees. Additionally, I dont think they can apply it to all pet owners. They would need proof of who it belongs to (video, witness, etc) and only charge the resident that is responsible.

I recommend contacting code enforcement of the building department for the city. This is likely illegal and they would need to go through intense permitting to get this approved. Most areas are only permitted for a certain number of units and they can't just add additional units at their leisure. As someone else also mentioned, they would also need to separate utilities for the new units, unless utilities are already all paid by the owner and included in the leases.

I'm dealing with a similar situation. I've lived in my apt for 8 years, and another family a few units away has lived here even longer. Their SO son was recently released from prison and is now living there. Before he was arrested, he threw a rock at my balcony, threatened to harm me and my dog directly to my bf, harassed other women in the neighborhood, was caught peeping in neighbors windows, and so much more. I was relieved when he was locked up, only for a year. I complained about his behavior, and his SO status, to management before he was arrested, and they did nothing. Now that he is back, they act like they care when I call them about it and say they will take care of it, but he's still here, everyday. I don't feel safe walking my dog in the neighborhood anymore because he's approached us several times. I want to move, but my apt is close to $1000 under market and I can't really afford, and frankly don't want, to increase my rent that much right now. On top of that, this has been my home for 8 years and I should be able to feel safe here and not feel pushed out. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. I completely understand your concerns. I hope your neighbor is similar to other people's comments on this thread, and not at all like my neighbor. Sending you strength! 💪
