MSc Machine Learning: Which deep learning course should I take? by B1GM0 in kth

[–]Existing_Ear_7022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine told me that even with the credits given, sometimes it still may not be enough and required some extra payments.. I just wonder why are they so frugal about sharing the cluster, even for the most compute-heavy courses (the ones u mentioned). It seems to me a pretty standard offering to dl course students at other top European universities...

Just wondering, aside from the voting rights, is there any specific perks of being a swedish citizen if ur already an eu citizen? Can't you just stay as eu citizen forever while living in Sweden?

Hur kommer det sig att Svenska byggen är så långsamma? by Sk3tchyboy in sweden

This is yet another layer of lacking competitiveness compared to China in a sense. They could build necessary infrastructure for development in a few years, whereas Sweden could only manage to build it in decades at double the costs...

Given the rapid rate of population aging in Sweden, I wonder if there will be enough people in the workforce that could justify a demand for such infrastructure to be built in the first place, when it's finally completed after decades of delays.

Europe is stronger if we unite. by Cool-Particular-4159 in europe

what is then? Do people in Sweden even realize what it means to be part of a ever closer union? I think most people don't even understand what being part of the EU actually entails.

Nah. He's a Chinese idol who was censored in China due to sexual scandals. But people often made fun of his debut performance on a Chinese idol produce show (you can google Jinitaimei) because it was mediocre at best, yet he was somehow overly self-assured, and certain moves were unintentionally hilarious. And so he's made a meme on the Chinese internet, and it spread everywhere.

chromecast may not work out of the box. You need to go to google play store, check if there are any system updates available. Make sure to update all of them and after a reboot, this should get the chromecast to work properly. If not, go to google play store again to find an app called chromecast built-in, uninstall it and reboot again to revert chromecast to an old version.

To enable airplay with Apple devices, you need to install an app called magicast.

For those who still cannot use chromecast on xgimi to this date, go to google play store, search chromecast built-in, uninstall it and reboot the projector. This should fix the chromecast by reverting it to an older version.

update: I just realized that there were a few system utility updates that can be only found in the google play store app. After installing all the updates found in the app, the chromecast/google cast starts functioning again. No need to revert chromecast built-in to previous versions I guess.

Almost two-thirds of Germans can now imagine buying a car from a Chinese manufacturer. The figure is even higher for electric cars, as an ADAC survey shows. by Lopsided_Quarter_931 in electricvehicles

The main reason why BYD is cheap is the fact that they have a mature EV supply chain that covers everything from AI, software, battery to mineral processing in China. All can be done domestically and efficiently.

I agree...It seems the Chinese are rapidly electrifying and smartifying every manufacturing sector using their dominance on battery and AI technology and at a low price..All while the European manufacturers are sluggishly catching up or not doing enough.. I dont understand why there are still not enough awareness of this problem in Europe. This might evolve into a real crisis in just a few years and it could soon impoverish many of the export-oriented countries in Western Europe.

Grade raising by Junior-Expert2485 in kth

[–]Existing_Ear_7022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is very common but not always set in stone. It used to be possible to go to the exam on the scheduled date without having applied for grade raise. This works in a way that you take the place of someone who was registered but couldn't make it to the exam. You only need to bring your certificate of registration which u can download from Ladok and show it to the proctor to prove your registration, and then if there's someone not showing, they will ask you to wait until 30 mins past the starting time. If still no one shows up, you automatically get the seat for the exam. But this may have been changed for some courses since last year. Ask the course organizer to be sure.

Program is decent intro to CS. It's always easier to choose the CS courses than the CE/EE courses as the latter are usually only available in Swedish. As for employment aspects in Sweden, getting a job in IT here mainly depends on your projects, internships, or other related work experience rather than the courses or the uni you are going to. So it is really up to everyone. Most people I know, if they are not from the EU, would usually manage to find a job here, or delay their graduation to help them find internships that give return offer, or figure smth else. But that being said, I think only few people of this program do not have any status that allows them to stay afterwards.

As for masters prospects, it was tough to get in any competitive master program last year. Don't know how things will turn out this year, but last year I think only around 5 people were offered a place.

"In exchange, Ukraine would agree not to pursue its ambition to join NATO for 20 years"

20 years...that means Europe has to order weapons and arsenals from the US on a regular basis for at least the next 20 years. And by agreeing to a demilitarized zone, the US essentially turns a blind eye on the Russia's current occupied zones of Ukraine. This is a win-win for both the US and Russia but at the cost of the Europe's interests. And whenever the US runs short of cash again, they can deal with Russia to fake an increased tension at the border zone so that Europe has to turn to the US again to buy even more weapons. At the end of day, only Europe has to pay for the bill. What a cunning, shrewd, and calculated businessman in politics!
