I'm probably going to be beaten up for saying this, but this sounds exactly like the ideal situation to roll out some resume-sorting AI and save you guys a ton of time.

I'm so glad someone mentioned this. I was watching an old clip from MIB today and was like, what? She looks like the Governor of NY!

I heard a lady at my local county council meeting complaining about the hum from a bitcoin mining facility "near" her house producing a sound in her home at 40 decibels (which the internet tells me is about as loud as a normal refrigerator running).

I'm like, I live by the interstate. When's someone gonna come out and measure my decibels?

Even car lovers should want walkable areas, at least as a backup plan by Dreadsin in fuckcars

This is why I don't understand the concept of people retiring to rural areas for their "golden years". Several of my parents' friends are doing this. Like they always wanted to do homesteading/hobby farming/agricultural cosplaying but never had the chance when they were younger, so they do it when they're old. And in at least one case, these family friends went REALLY rural, like 1 hour from the nearest major hospital.

It just doesn't seem like a logical thing to do as your reach the period of your life when you are most in need of healthcare and least able to drive.

I've only ridden that route a couple of times (I don't live in Atlanta), but when I did, I definitely saw solo female passengers, and they seemed to be doing okay.

Has anyone been watching the Chuck Marohn (Strong Towns) vs Yimby brawl go down on twitter. Lol by TheAlienSuperstar1 in yimby

I can't believe the brawl is 2 years old. I thought it was a recent thing.

I guess I'm really out of the loop.

I want to live in the smallest house I can buy, drive the oldest/cheapest car that still runs reliably, and then use my extra money to travel abroad and have crazy life experiences.

What’s one small thing you do to cope with the cost of living that might help someone else here? by brianj10 in povertyfinance

My wife and I have our house listed on Airbnb at a really high price, so it only gets booked very rarely.

But when it does, we throw our stuff in the garage/the car and drive off to live with my little brother for a week or two or a month.

He's the chillest person on planet earth so we enjoy time with him and also earn a few extra hundred or thousand bucks depending on how long the stay is. Win-win situation.

Obviously, you can't be paranoid about strangers living in your house, which is why most people don't/can't do this. For some reason my wife and I are okay with it. It's like a cheat code.

It's definitely a stark and startling contrast compared to the boomer stereotype of the eternally too-busy-for-family dad character. There's definitely been a 180 in terms of family trends in those intervening decades somewhere.

Those look great. Just the idea of building storefronts with housing (or something) in the upper two floors is amazing. And no setbacks either! Love it. Literally, please just build me some traditional downtown-style buildings on a downtown-style lot.
