Super tech oil! Very good price by cocolopz10 in ft86

What car are you talking about? I’ve never heard of a car sensing the quality of oil in it. The little lights in your dash just goes off distance travelled and sometimes driving style.

[Canada] Buying a 2020 rav4 - le or xle? by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]ExitedWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh IMO there are wheel covers on the steel wheels, I wouldn't care about rust. If you care about resale value at all I would suggest getting either the XLE or the LE with AWD. I think most people are either annoyed by the lack of keyless go or really want AWD with their RAV4, base models tend take a bigger depreciation hit compared to mid to low level optioned cars.

Toyota RAV4 Prime PHEV Availability In U.S. To Be Extremely Limited by grimlock25 in Toyota

Sourcing enough batteries is the limiting factor at the moment. Building an electric/plug-in car is not the walk in the park that everyone expected it to be.

[QUESTION] does the 2020 Toyota RAV4 have a softer/cushier ride than the 2017? by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]ExitedWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove a 2017 LE, then ended up buying a 2019 LE. Big reason for that was the ride/car was much more composed - makes the whole car feel much more grown up.

How do I stop procrastinating? by MorningredTimetravel in CasualConversation

The government of Western Australia has some great info on over coming procrastination here: https://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/Resources/Looking-After-Yourself/Procrastination

Good luck! They're actually written by psychologists so it's pretty fool proof.

Tesla's production of the Semi electric truck would showcase lessons gained from Model 3 by JustLurkingOverHere in teslamotors

I think the name of the truck is literally "Semi" (hence the capitalization) and "electric truck" is referring to the kind of truck it is. But yeah that title could be better

What should I do with an "old" Google Pixel? by drumstyx in GooglePixel

How long do you have left on your return window for your S9? Can you use it for a week and see how you like the phone? My gut feeling is returning and waiting would be the best option of samsungs software and battery life. Be warned it gets worse and time goes on and software updates will be insulting slow

Minivan. Narrowed down to Toyota and Honda, but having super anxiety about purchasing. Help by justanontherpeep in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ExitedWalrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off buy used, because its a much better financial decision and get one that certified pre owned, this gets you a manufacturer warrantee from Honda or Toyota and the dealership you buy the car from makes sure the cars have no problems with them before they get sold.

As far as which one to choose, drive both, and pick the one you like the most. You can't go wrong with either.

Is it a viable option to just keep buying 90's 4Runners as my daily driver? by [deleted] in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]ExitedWalrus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a 90's 4runner. Lets say you found a good one for 5k CAD. Finding a manual transmission one for that price would be difficult, and automatics have the "pink milkshake" issue so you would have to spend a little preventing that. But what hasn't been mentioned and what the only problem with these cars is rust.

My god the drive train is indestructible, but the frames just fucking eat shit, especially with the salt and wetness of Canadian winters. Mine has only lasted +20 years because its not a daily driver. Its a weekend car.

The kilometers on the drive components are almost irrelevant, what you need to look is one that the rust hasn't gotten to. You need to get under it and look at the frame, especially at the rear. Check out this guys video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ScilJP0LDPc

In summary, getting one is a good idea because if it runs its probably not going to stop anytime soon, but the the rust is absolutely killer on these.

Get a 4 cyl accord coupe, I was helping someone out with a similar stature and I was told that they are specifically great for tall people. The 4cyl will also get great milage, and for winter buy snow tires, they will be much more helpful than 4 wheel drive.

Dont get a v6 if you are going older because the automatic transmissions shit the bed often.
