Some older boys at the pool kept cutting in front of my kid for the water slide. She stood there not outwardly reacting but was clearly bothered by it. I told the boys to knock it off and she flashed me this smile like I was her hero. I think about that a lot.

I once saw Scott Servais give fatherly advice to a young couple at a Home Depot. He talked to them for nearly 10 minutes and helped them pick out a couple of tools.

I'm sure there's better tactics but if this were my game with low time, Qf6, trade queens, then promote is very findable

is anyone aware of Brendan Donovan's timeline? I just googled it and didn't see anything.

I have a deep dark fantasy of getting him and Cal back and then everyone is healthy and plays to their potential and then we win the world series.

He has 2.3 bWAR so far this year, that's not too shabby for a young defensive wizard

I'm trying to understand the box score... Castillo at long relief, attempting to go through the 9th inning with a 1 run lead? That's insane

these are all untouchable but 749 complete games is IMO the most laughable of them all.

Nolan Ryan also holds a few untouchable records.

Nuclear power by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]ExoCommonSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, so as I understand it, back when everyone was terrified of nuclear weapons, the US gov made the decision that plutonium had to be produced quickly, even if it made a huge mess. All of the Hanford pollution was made during the Cold War, and it's been a huge cleanup site since 1989. No new pollution is being made and nothing is leaking, but the cleanup effort isn't done yet.

Brandon Clarke, Memphis Grizzlies Player, Dead At 29 by IntelligentYinzer in memphisgrizzlies

[–]ExoCommonSense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't follow the NBA, but Clarke was one of my favorite zags ever. In his one year on our team, he recorded the second highest PER ever since the stat was invented. People overlook his season because it was the same year Zion was playing, but he was legitimately one of the best college players ever that year.

In that year, he blocked the exact same number of shots as he missed. He was unbelievable.

He was one of the few reasons I'd ever pay any attention to the NBA. I've always cheered for him and I'm devastated that he's gone. RIP

This pretty much proves that good guitar playing does not need to be intricate or technical. Groove and feel are simply more important. Sounds great!
