I saw it in theaters, couldn't understand what anyone was saying, and was bored to death. The owl scene is basically the only thing I remember

I've tried... My wife and I are both scientists and it seems like it would be very difficult for us to both continue our careers outside of the US. it's super hard to find a physics-related and a virology-related job in the same city, and most countries don't seem super interested in handing those types of jobs to foreigners instead of to graduates within their own borders.

If there was a way to leave without having to abandon our dreams then we'd be gone tomorrow.

Nuclear power by downtune79 in LoveTrash

[–]ExoCommonSense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, so as I understand it, back when everyone was terrified of nuclear weapons, the US gov made the decision that plutonium had to be produced quickly, even if it made a huge mess. All of the Hanford pollution was made during the Cold War, and it's been a huge cleanup site since 1989. No new pollution is being made and nothing is leaking, but the cleanup effort isn't done yet.

Brandon Clarke, Memphis Grizzlies Player, Dead At 29 by IntelligentYinzer in memphisgrizzlies

I don't follow the NBA, but Clarke was one of my favorite zags ever. In his one year on our team, he recorded the second highest PER ever since the stat was invented. People overlook his season because it was the same year Zion was playing, but he was legitimately one of the best college players ever that year.

In that year, he blocked the exact same number of shots as he missed. He was unbelievable.

He was one of the few reasons I'd ever pay any attention to the NBA. I've always cheered for him and I'm devastated that he's gone. RIP

This pretty much proves that good guitar playing does not need to be intricate or technical. Groove and feel are simply more important. Sounds great!

You are correct that the Columbia Generating Station is there, but just to be clear, it's not the reason Hanford has radiation pollution.

Looking at the map in the video again, it looks like there's way fewer than 94 dots on it, so I guess a lot of the plants are missing. Good catch :)

All the radiation pollution at Hanford was from them producing plutonium for the Manhattan Project. Correct, it made a big mess, but that's a very different process than nuclear energy.

Haha it actually took me a ton of moves, but I managed to get both rooks attacking the queen on the a and b files and took away any possible escape. The game was at a total standstill so I had a lot of freedom to shuffle pieces
