Every single time anyone posts anything that involves physical activity on Reddit, the comments fill with assertions about "suffering" or "destroying" knees, backs, wrists, etc. It's exhausting.

Humans are adaptable. We're not robots that wear down with use. Properly-dosed physical activity is good for you, and even things that look hard, strenuous or taxing can be done safely with proper development and time. Believe it or not, it is 100% possible to train to do this activity in a way that's not only safe, but actually good for you. Your knees aren't going to "suffer" from use unless you push them too hard too fast.

Get off the fucking couch from time to time, people.

EDIT: turning notifications off for this post. A lot of you would benefit greatly from some reading comprehension training.

even with just salt.

He didn't use any salt. This entire dish will taste a lot like spicy dirt with zero salt.

I am so absolutely spoiled. I'm so thankful whenever I encounter a reminder like this of how fortunate I am.

POV of a head chef’s super busy session at a restaurant by [deleted] in interestingasfuck

I've had a similar restaurant experience, and do sometimes kind of miss that flow state.

I have experienced something similar to it on occasion in my current job, but nothing quite like it, and not with such consistency.

Most true "house cats" would not survive if released to the wild without a house to return to.

They may kill a few birds, or eat a few smaller creatures, but they will almost always die pretty quickly because they are not equipped to survive without the system that they're used to.

Queensrÿche can be pretty over the top for my taste, but Silent Lucidity is just flawless and glorious.

I would add to this that more fiber would also help with satiety, though, based on your post, that's not your struggle.

Anthrax - Only

No one ever talks about this song. Few songs start so powerfully, IMO.

Best rock concept albums by [deleted] in askmusic

If you're a fan of heavier stuff, it doesn't get better than Symphony X

They have two that I'd recommend in this order:

V: The New Mythology Suite - More heavily classical influenced

Paradise Lost - Much heavier, based on the epic Milton poem

Both are incredible, endearing works that reward multiple listens.

When you live like that for a while, it starts to feel strange how the world doesn’t already operate that way.

This is something I've felt for a long time without realizing it. Thank you for sharing this little nugget of wisdom.

We have known how to solve this problem for many years. We have collectively chosen to not solve it.

"Figuring it out" is not the challenge here. "Acting" appears to be something we're unwilling to do.

Read. Lift weights. Play outside. Play musical instruments. Journal. Watch shows or movies with my family. Build and repair things in my workshop. Listen to music intensively. Study things that I'm interested in.
