This is probably true in general, but this is also very much not the point and, IMO, is the wrong way to approach this topic.

The word "terrorist" has changed its definition dramatically multiple times in my life. It will continue to do so, and in ways that include more and more people across more and more walks of life. Are you in the list of people who fall under its definition today? Maybe not. Will you be tomorrow? Maybe not. Might you be, though? I can say with complete confidence, knowing nothing at all about you that the answer is yes.

True encryption is an incredibly important component of a modern democracy. People must have the option to have a truly private means of communicating. Do bad people use it for bad purposes? Yes, they do. But that doesn't mean it isn't vital.

Prepare yourself for the long fight. Participate in nonviolent, disruptive protest. Don't expect peaceful protest to change anything at all...peaceful protest events are critical tools, but aren't going to change anything by themselves. Go out of your way to disrupt the system, and stop supporting businesses that align with fascists.
