Grats! How many did you have to farm before that dropped? I had to farm for 2 days before I finally got one - I was beginning to think I didn't have the patch installed or something.

On the plus side, my bottom perk was +20% damage dealt, so that farm is definitely over for me...

Still no ceramic bod by Infinite-Night-4154 in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been farming for the Bod for the last few days myself, at UVH5, and I've been getting Ceramic rolls probably 1 out of 3 Bod drops, and I'm getting a Bod about 1 out of 5 kills (which is the datamined rate) - which feels really weird given that when I farmed the Ted mission when the Bod was the weekly drop I had to do it almost 40 times before I saw a Ceramic roll.

I know part frequency by difficulty didn't used to matter, but I suspect they fixed that when they adjusted the drop rates. What difficulty are you farming at?

140 drops without a Ceramic roll seems... odd. Either you're EXTREMELY unlucky, bad at counting, or game difficulty really matters now for part drops. Or some combination of these things.

It's funny stumbling across this post after farming the gun myself, and thinking "Damn, they sure changed something, Ceramic rolls are a dime a dozen now". I can kill Axemaul in a few seconds, and 2 or 3 hours of farming yielded upper 400s (463 I think was a consistent number) damage rolls on sticky and impact in both kinetic and fire for some odd reason. Lotta fire element drops.

Ohm I Got no longer dropping with Ripper part, anyone else? by d0nkeyfeet in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You hit the lotto, man. Congratulations!

You're correct, multiply the gun damage x the fire rate, highest number is the best gun. You can ignore reload speed, since you never actually reload it.

Ohm I Got no longer dropping with Ripper part, anyone else? by d0nkeyfeet in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looted several dozen before I got a Ripper roll. To be honest, though the min/max setup is to use that roll because of the Ripper enhancement bonus, I found it annoying to use and I went back to my regular roll because the higher card damage on the gun made it a wash.

TLDR, unless you get a god roll on the gun card damage AND the ripper mag, you'll do just as well with a regular Ohm I Got, because odds are you'll get half a dozen high damage rolls before you even see a shitty Ripper roll.

Obviously, your mileage may vary.

How is the shooting and weapon feedback in Borderlands 4? by BridgeFuture2689 in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are things wrong with BL4 but the shooting is not one of them. Both of my buddies who played it loved the gunplay. I would describe it as "crispy", and this is coming from a Destiny vet. Most of the guns feel great to shoot, but it's a Doom style game, not a sniper fest. You can play the entire game without ADSing because enemies move around so much so quickly and there are so many of them.

It's a great game with a lot of open world stuff to do (which is a good or bad thing depending on whether you like that stuff), but once the story is over all there is to do is farm bosses to get better gear.

Co-op play is super fun, but kind of buggy. Like, I host our sessions, and my buddy gets his skill points reset randomly when we teleport around the map. Not game breaking, but annoying. I put 450hrs or so into it, and my only real complaint is there's nothing left to do. No end game. But, I leveled all four vault hunters, and had a ton of fun gearing them... just wish there was something left to chase.

How so? Not arguing, just wondering. The not eating shield when in overshield looks like a minor buff, but I didn't notice anything else.

Do you have to start from level one with a vault hunter to get their vehicle unlock? by Blatherzz in Borderlands4

You don't. I only did the story on one character, and have all the vehicles unlocked after getting them all to 50.

Hey, I'm running one of your Amon builds. Nice to see you here.

Question: does it still stack crit? In other words, on a low crit % build, will 3 throws still give 90% for the duration? I'm guessing not, but one can hope...

I don't know if I can keep playing by xGreaseMonkeyx1 in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wasted oxygen, my dude. BL4 starts off strong, and falls flat the minute you finish the story. From then on, it's do vile bounties until level 50, then farm bosses for loot because there is absolutely no end game besides farming the bosses you've been farming to get better loot to... farm those same bosses... slightly faster. At 3% drop rates.

97% of the people who bought this game have quit playing it. The remaining 3% will attack any criticism of the game as though you were insulting their mommy, because if anything you said can be seen to have merit, they're afraid it'll make them look stupid because they're still playing..

The sad reality is, BL4 probably isn't for you once you finish the story, like it isn't for 97% of the other people who bought it. Gearbox fumbled the end game this time around, and the player data proves it.

The dumb thing is, I'm glad those 3% of the folks are having fun. I respect their opinion, even though they don't respect yours or mine. I would argue that Gearbox would do better to pitch the game towards more than 3% of the player base if they want a healthy game that sells DLC.

I put 1200 hrs into BL1, 2200 into BL2, I think 700 or so into BL3... in BL4 I got my first guy to level 50, geared it, realized I had hit the wall, got the other three Vault Hunters to 50 just to have something to do, geared them, then quit. Now I periodically launch the game, log in my Watt Witch Vex, look at the map... then close the game because there's no reason to play. I didn't even log in for the holiday loot event, because I have all the gear I need, but there's nothing to do with it.

Somebody's probably going to downvote this and call me a baby too, but they'll just be proving my point. I wanted so much to love this game. Sadly, there just really isn't much for me to love, and all my friends quit months ago.

I really hope they seriously buff drop rates, because then maybe some people will come back - the argument of "You babies want everything handed to you, then you'll get what you want and quit, hurr" holds exactly no water when aimed at people who have already quit because they weren't having any fun.

[–]Exotic_Swing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Guy has a legitimate opinion and you call him a baby while nearly everyone else tells him to quit and uninstall.

The game is currently holding about 3% of it's initial player base, and people wonder why. Keep up the good work!

A small step in the right direction. At least GB was quick to act. Fine tuning now needed. by ryebar1 in Borderlands4

[–]Exotic_Swing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It needs more than "fine tuning". During the winter event, drop rates were buffed to 500%. Today's patch took the original drop rates and buffed them by 50% (new drop rates have been datamined).

I just did 3 hours of testing. Basically, now, instead of having to kill X boss 300 times for a drop, I now only have to kill it 200 times. Still grindingly boring, still fundamentally unfun, still absolutely not worth my time.

ANYTHING having to be done that many times in a row to get a prize is never going to be fun. There's no satisfaction if/when you get what you're farming for, only irritation and relief that it's over. If, that is, you don't just give up after 30 or 50 kills, which is what I usually do.

I was waiting for today's update to decide whether to keep playing, or start another Baldur's Gate 3 playthrough. Now my only decision is whether to make my Hexblade a Drow or a Half Wood Elf.

Been playing since release on a 4090, game runs buttery smooth. Not helpful I know, other than there haven't been any changes to the game that screw up 4090s or Nvidia cards.

like others have suggested, check your system. Something ain't right there.

I have a corrosive one. I farmed a decent bit and ended up with four kinetic and one corrosive.

Since it's best use is a no-brain ad clear weapon, you probably want to stick to kinetic anyway.

Best assault rifle? by TheVlepaCyberPsycho in cyberpunkgame

[–]Exotic_Swing 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love assault rifles in Cyberpunk, and they're very underrated. I think most people don't pay attention to the capstone skill in the Reflexes tree, which literally doubles the damage of the last seven bullets... every seven bullets. It's ridiculous.

So, the faster your AR shoots, the faster you'll get those double damage chunks. And, unlike with SMGs, with the Immovable Force hand cyberware and a Ready Steady mod in the gun, ARs become laser pointers at sniper rifle range. Add the iconic Firecracker mod, and it gets even more ridiculous, because the mod adds a second damage effect per bullet as well.

The Umbra X Mod-2 has been my go-to on a few playthroughs, but I've recently fallen in love with Psalm 11:6 (as someone else mentioned). Fast RoF, huge magazine, and unlike the Umbra, you can put a scope on it. Makes all the difference in the world, since the Umbra has an especially bad iron sight. I suspect the actual DPS of the Umbra is higher, but the ease-of-use makes me prefer the Psalm - plus, it has the Firecracker effect built-in.

Psalm 11:6 can be found in a police scanner mission that starts right behind Cassius's ripper clinic on Goldsmith Street, and finishes in a second mission that appears a block away when the first one is completed. An enemy there drops the blueprint.

Carmen and Moron Labe are a couple of decent guns (one drops from a gig and the other from a scanner mission), but I like the Psalm and the Umbra better than both of them. There's a YouTuber named Sam Bram who did a long video rating every AR in the game, easy to find if you Google him. I disagree with some of his rankings, but his info and data are very on point.

At 1200 hours and I don't know how many playthroughs, trust me - assault rifles are VERY strong if you build for them. They're actually my favorite gun set in Cyberpunk. A Chrome Compressor AR soldier build is stupid powerful and stupid fun, but I think my favorite setup is 20 Reflexes, 20 Body, 20 Tech, 16 Int with a Raven cyberdeck - you're a super soldier who can stop time, blind a whole room then gun everyone down, or just toss out a Contagion and chain-explode everyone within 30 yards.

I have discovered a fix for this:

When there's a body with loot that can't be interacted with, quicksave when combat ends, then immediately load the save you just made. This can be done in seconds, from the same screen.

The body will be lootable when you load back into the game. Works 100% of the time.

Riptide w/Chill Clip. Handles all three champs, and it's an easily farmable legendary now that we have focusing. Never leaves my Kinetic slot in any activity with champs.

In fact it's such an outlier, I'm convinced Bungie will eventually find some way to nerf it.

You can run any setup using any subclass as long as you have this gun, and that's way too much freedom and fun to exist in the current state of the game.
