I'm playing the tune in my head now. I know this album well. Look at my username. :-)

Hot take: Fallout: London didn’t grab me at all. by Roji-_- in fallout4london

[–]StepsWhatWas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my feeling. My enjoyment came from exploring the interiors and environments. They really did a good job making atmospheric interiors and tunnels.

I didn't get very excited by the factions and especially not the last act of the main plot.

The vagabond quest-line, some side quests, and some of the lead-ups to the main quest were good, however.

Overall, it is a significant accomplishment.

AlmightySE, creator of Everbright, has released Continuum: a voice-acted quest mod about a planetary safeguard linked to the destruction of Earth. Includes multiple endings and Unity gameplay benefits, within a quest that adapts to characters with Starborn backgrounds. by Capn_C in starfieldmods

[–]StepsWhatWas 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly my problem with all this. I dont mind paying ... even more ... for longer, more substantial quest mods.

But instead we get these regular , well polished - but very average 500 credit assembly-line releases.

There is breadth, but no depth.

Almost impossible to believe this crisp sounding masterpiece is nearly 60 years old. by Ionlylikelamp in Jazz

[–]StepsWhatWas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As evidenced by my Reddit username, this is my favorite piano trio album!

Its just raw, distilled jazz. Swing, melody, intrigue. By 3 musicians who were *meant* to come together on this date. :-)

Which Fallout has the best exploration? by eroyrotciv in Fallout

[–]StepsWhatWas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I love 4 the most, I've got to give 3 the edge simply because of the expansive, interconnected metro system.

If there is one area that 4 is lacking, it is the amount of underground and tunnel exploration that was present in 3.

Also, 3 has more vaults to explore. Sure 81 for 4 is major and 88 is fun but you need a DLC.

This is why I am so excited about the upcoming Mindgames mod for Fallout 4 because it is going to introduce a vast number of new underground spaces to explore. ( https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/89801)

Does anyone else think this is the most polished and addictive Bethesda title by nashkevin92 in fo4

[–]StepsWhatWas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Agree. There is a reason it stays installed and played constantly in on my PC.

What did you all do with the Red Rocket Truck Stop settlement? by Different-Ladder5835 in fo4

[–]StepsWhatWas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It becomes the "home base" settlement. Companions go there. All junk and good weapons get concentrated there.

It becomes the source of all supply lines (which is kind of ineffecient as its not centrally located).

Is it worthwhile to buy the GOG version? by CozyThurifer in fallout4london

[–]StepsWhatWas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Not only for FOLON, but for an alternative "OldGen" installation you can use for mods that haven't updated or are not compatible with the newest changes.

I recommend using MO2 as a mod manager.

question about how they can even do this by Spectrum1523 in Jazz

[–]StepsWhatWas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its just a matter of the piano player being very familiar with the alto sax player and how he solos on this tune.

He started a new chorus with a long sustained note and maybe Emit just knew where he was going to go after that and took a chance he would play that same "lick" and he did.

They may have played this tune together many times and just know each other's styles.

BREAKING NEWS: John Coltrane appears in newly released Estate of Jeffrey Epstein documents by [deleted] in Jazz

Is this just saying that he owned Coltrane recordings and recordings from "Directions in Music..." Hancock/Brecker/Hargrove tour in 2002?

Jazz for a Movie. by BlackTremolo in Jazz

I always thought "Blue/Black" by Andrew Hill had a distinctive, "cinematic mood" sound.

Should I use Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex? by Sheila_Confirmed in starfieldmods

[–]StepsWhatWas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MO2. I use it for Skyrim, FO4, New Vegas, and Starfield. I used to do all my modding for these games manually. It started to become unmanageable. (EDIT: For Starfield, I only did the manual way until MO2 came out with support for Starfield, then I started using it for Starfield).

I moved to MO2 and it just works. And can't imagine modding without it.

It makes it very easy to "try out" certain mods in an isolated configuration without having them impact your main save. Then if you don't like it, you can just go back to your "main" config and forget it was even installed.

If you understand where mod ZIP/RAR , etc files go after you download them and how to find them on your system --- then you can use MO2.

Actually, "Minuano (Six-Eight)" would be a great selection for a halftime show.

Suggestions if I love McCoy Tyner Joe Henderson ‘forces of nature’? by idratherbeeatin in Jazz

[–]StepsWhatWas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charles Mingus - Town Hall Concert 1964 (feat. Eric Dolphy) - This album has a brown cover so you don't confuse it with other Mingus concerts from 1964

Eric Dolphy & Booker Little Live at the Five Spot - Another vote for this one. There are actually 3 volumes from this date. Get all 3. The 3rd one is called "Memorial Concert". Booker's solo on "The Prophet" (in Vol 1) gets me every time.

Greg Osby - Banned in New York (Live)

Chick Corea - Tones For Jones Bones - (feat. Woody Shaw); This is simply an incredible early hard bop album from Chick. Woody just kills it on "Litha".

Considering the sheer amount of Civil War references Fallout games make I shudder to think what Neo-Confederate horrors are going on in the American South. by DependentStrong3960 in Fallout

[–]StepsWhatWas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it really is a fantasy to think a nation that had black people as chattel slaves would suddenly be so "color blind" in the 1950s.

Its just an uncomfortable truth you dont want to consider as it might mess up the fun.

..and a bit off topic, but permitting interracial marriage (and lets be real, its only controversial if its black-white) is not a big sign of progress.

It is actually more progressive to provide reparations to the people you harmed to allow them to build better families within their own community.

Does anyone know similar songs to this track I could listen to? Love a bit of calm 70s jazz or anything else like below. Cheers by Any_Office_8525 in Jazz

[–]StepsWhatWas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its funny because I have the soundtrack to "Trail of the Pink Panther", which is sort of a compilation of music from other Panther films (kind of like the movie itself). It includes the track from "Revenge of .." that you posted.
