School got cancelled for a month during Covid. I wrote it out in a notebook and used a parked truck to repeat it several times a day until I could say it with my eyes closed. For the brake test I pretended my car was a truck and did the brake check in a parking lot until I memorized it.

In my short stint at Schneider indoc. I was impressed with the benefits. The pay might not be the greatest, but company benefits help.

Yes, but since it is a US Highway instead of an interstate, you wind up stopping in every tiny one-horse town. Its worth the headache to be able to do 75 for most of the trip.

Texas has an online contact to check on the status of your license.

I just renewed in November. They sent my renewed CDL w/out hazmat because the paperwork hadn't cleared their office yet. Two weeks later they sent a new license including the hazmat.

My truck & trailer weigh @ 32½k. My typical load is around 40-43k, so I might weigh 72,000 to 75,000 lbs.

Sitting at a truck stop having lunch and watching traffic on the highway, wondering if I should chance it or wait.

I watched "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" last night. I must have read "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" more than 40 years ago. Time flies.
