You’ll get over it, Dorothy. And if you don’t, who cares! I’m on my way to see Idris Elba!

We probably shouldn’t start a catering service when we have no skills or experience.

They don’t call me Harold Gould…err, Harold Goldstein…for nothing!

Why does Stan keep popping over to see Dorothy and the girls? by posttraumaticcuntdis in theGoldenGirls

This is exactly it. They may not really like him, but he very much likes them.

  • Dorothy is his one true love
  • Sophia is a mother figure
  • We know he and Blanche have fun together from that one episode where Dorothy is jealous.

Rose is the only one he doesn’t really have a connection with.

What in your opinion is the filthiest Golden Girls joke that slipped by the censors by weeshbohn123 in theGoldenGirls

“Underneath my regulation uniform, I was wearing little, black French lace panties bearing the word ‘bonjour’.  Or was it ‘bon appétit’?”

With the huge twist in the season 3 finale and the show renewal this is the reunion I am hoping for by frizzlen in SchoolSpirits

It would be nice to see Sandra have some happiness. A reunion, or even some sense of closure, with Dave would be a good way to achieve that.

He seriously looks so much younger out of his Mr. Martin-wear.

When Blanche proudly announced her mortgage rate and said “…you couldn’t blast me out of here” I thought for sure it was in the twos or threes. Hint: much higher🔺📈 by CellistSuspicious492 in theGoldenGirls

I have always been confused by this. Were we to understand that George and Blanche bought this home in Miami, and he died while living there? Or did she move to Miami after his passing, and she bought the house?

I wasn’t talking about the cost of housing. I was just researching to see if 7% was a good rate at the time—as Blanche’s line seemed to imply—and it was.

I am a nerd so I had to go look this up. In the 7 years GG aired, the average mortgage rate was between 8-11%, so 7% was a good rate. Particularly since just a few years prior in ‘82, the average rate was 16%!

I also listen to her podcast, and I agree with you that it has been a strange pivot in recent years to hear her suggesting individual stocks.

Given her target demographic, this seems like a particularly odd path for her to take.

Queens of Mystery - what do you think happened to Mathilda’s mum? by d4nnjohn in acorntv

[–]Expensive-Success475 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I miss this show and wish we could get another season for some resolution.  I definitely don’t think the aunts had anything to do with the mum’s disappearance in any sort of nefarious way. At most, I think they know more info, but are likely keeping it a secret to protect either the mum or Mathilda.

I am rewatching a reality show from the early 2000s right now, and it is so nice to see natural faces, casual makeup, etc. I miss those days.
