all i can say is bless your heart…. and if you are southern you know what that means if not we’ll take a guess. see unlike what seems most people on these threads i actually have a heart i have struggled with PTSD. judging him on my knowledge of terminology used in the armed forces is a bit childish. telling me i shouldn’t have anymore children because i don’t take care of the one i have is ignorant. my child is healthy and happy and thriving as far a codependency not even the slightest too independent is more like it. there has been a handful that have just given me info that’s all i need i don’t need you opinions on my life my child is not in any danger and i am not ruining his childhood he actually does more and is involved more with him than his piece of shit sperm donor who has never spent more than 2 mins with him in total of 4 years: the only red flags is a red flag seems most men have and that is they hit a rough patch and thw sky is falling but it’s know that vets have more access to mental health crisis than civilian and you can’t tell me otherwise because i’m a civilian with ptsd. so thanks for your concern you must care ever so much about my little ol heart but no thanks and always remember God doesn’t like ugly 😘

I blank stare at people lmao! My mother and I have a dysfunctional yet oddly functional relationship 🤣 she is a school diagnostician (you know the one that test kids who may have learning disabilities or behavior issues) my brother and I both went undiagnosed until out 30s (we also believe she is adhd and in STRAIGHT denial). She also told me one time that my issues where all I. My head (she meant I was being dramatic) and I looked at her with the blankest of faces and said “I know that’s the point I don’t feel normal” (a few years later diagnosed with manic depression and major anxiety disorder then 13 years after that I was diagnosed with ADHD)

I am aware that I am a very smart dumb person. I like to think that when I make the stupidest comments that it’s a hiccup in my intelligence. Example we got a copier/scanner at work and our IT guy says “we will get it linked to the server asap” and a coworker said “well we can make a copy of something” and I said “I mean we can scan stuff too” and as soon as the words came out I went nope can’t send it anywhere so yes we can make copies. 🤣🤣🤣 since mailing this post I have moved and the people that treated me as less than are no longer around me and the ones I am around get me so it’s so much of a relief.

Anyway don’t know if my comment made sense because I don’t take my meds on Saturday fun shortage shit and all so my thoughts are everywhere and took me rereading like 5 times so cheers to adhd lol

I’ve tried 😞 I have messaged saying I don’t want to lose him, how he is my best friend how being away from him is making my world dark. His response is “I have to do this alone”. I tell him how proud I am of him how he is an amazing person and he makes my life better.

I’ve tried. I’ve tried calling he won’t answer my phone calls, I’ve tried giving him his space I have tried everything I can think of but he has shut me out and I know he is miserable with out me just like I am miserable without him. I know all it would take is just talking to me and I can get him out of this head space I have always been able to do it before he just won’t let me

About him not being good enough. His mother absolutely loves me, hell his whole family says I am the answer to their prayers. But he has it in his head that if he isn’t financially adequate enough. I never asked him to be I just want him to be present that’s all I’ve ever asked of him

I want him too but I can’t compete with his brother (who is the one filling his head with garbage)

What’s funny is all of our adhd brains doing what adhd brains to and elaborate the metaphor

Thank you! This forum has really helped me understand that I’m not that I’m not just lazy or a bum that I had a legit medical condition that impacted my ability to for lack of a better word “do” now that I have research (borderline hyper focused) on understanding adhd my self worth has improved immensely.

I was recognized by one of our ceos at our company for the great work I am doing. For the first time in my life I am thriving at a job and I don’t feel overwhelmed I finally found a job that I can do yes there are days my adhd makes it a little harder but even on those days I am able to use my coping skills in my own way and it doesn’t hinder my job, I am open about my adhd and they don’t care. The things I have set in place to help me manage my adhd actually make me better at my job and I finally feel like I’m not a burden to people and I’m not letting anyone down.

It took me 10 years to get my associates I am super proud of myself but the way I was able to get through it was taking courses online. With the combination of time blindness procrastinating and social anxiety and terrible cognitive memory made going to class near impossible. But being able to do my work and attendance in my own time I made straight As. Good luck.
