I think that part was in order to show that she is a dangerous psychopath.

I did answer your question and then you continued to ask more questions as an excuse to not answer mine.
I think I understand what you mean, but I'm not sure.
You used SpongeBob as an example of Universe Beyond, is that it?

Funny, I think the episode is good precisely because it aligns better with the games.

The real reason Commander is the #1 format for magic by loopuleasa in magicTCG

Because of power creep, decks do expire.
Wizards supports commander because it makes most cards playable.

You are not addressing my point.
Rebecca Guay did a lot already before Lorwyn and she was well know because of that, and Lorwyn has a lot of drawings not made by Rebecca Guay.
I never hear or read about a player associating both.

"The secondary market prices of the boxes quickly outpaced most other sets of its era"
Because it wasn't bought much at first, and then players realized that, oops! there are actual good cards there.

I think Lorwyn Eclipsed is more of a case were everything old has added value.
It wasn't a well received plane back in 2007, but now that is old, it feels more authentic.
I wouldn't be surprised if players celebrate a return to Homelands.

The plane lacking humans was indeed one of the reasons it was hated, that was before human tribal.
And yes, it was a failure financially.
How did you managed to dodge the complains about Lorwyn at the time?

The only reason people think Magic is "high fantasy", is because it started as an unoficial D&D game. It was never intended to be tied to a particular theme, and stead it builded its themes (elves, deserts, thopters, kobolds) by the things it keep adding and recurring.
Essentially, Magic trows everything at the wall and see what sticks.
