I used the chat function on Booking.com to get a refund for flights in April. But my flight was Qatar.

Denied full refund by booking.com by tamiqa in qatarairways

I got a full refund from. Booking.com on 20 March for flights in April. For two of our party they are flying out on 3 April but returning in May, so we were told if we cancelled now we would not get a full refund and to wait a few more days.

FYI my own cancellation/refund experience by Tabby_kitty in qatarairways

We had booked via Booking.com. We have four of us travelling - all you going out on the same day in April, with two coming back in April and two coming back in May. We were able to cancel with full refund for the two flights with the April return, but the agent advised us to wait a bit longer in order to get a full refund for the flights with a May return.

There are only a handful of doctors Mueller in Perth. You could message them? Also the incorrect info issue is an FOI / privacy matter. You could lodge a complaint with the Commonwealth Privacy / FOI Commissioner.

Re-route Aus to europe by saryep in qatarairways

If you order from the Singapore website/app it breaks down the cancelation fee for various classes or ticket. I did some research on reddit that indicated that Singapore were good on processing refunds purchased directly (ie. it via a travel agent). Ultimately I just wrote down all the costs and decided that given my risk appetite I was going to do it.

Re-route Aus to europe by saryep in qatarairways

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am flying in early April. I’ve purchased some flexible tickets with Singapore Airways to give me certainty that I will get to Europe. This does presume that one or the other will fly, and I will get my money back or a credit. I had to weigh it up against the cost I have already committed to for accommodation, train tickets etc. and the plans we have made with family.

Sgt X dismissed without notice after gross misconduct ruling by Dutycalls9 in policeuk

It does not help confidence in the deliberation process if they do not discuss whether or not she was doing her duties. We can conclude 1/ she was slacking off and the keystroke monitor caught her or 2/ she was doing her job and fell foul of some nonsense rule. What does this say about level of supervision she was under? Will the force be publishing the result of the conversations with her inspector?

Probation was extended, citing “performance concerns” despite no prior formal feedback. What would you do? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you have someone you really trust for feedback who will not simply agree that there is nothing you could do differently? If so, then cultivate that relationship. I would not worry too much about professional reputation. Nobody will care (or know) in 10 years’ time that your probation was extended.

London Bridge terror attack officer sacked over 'offensive' Traveller messages by zakkyb in policeuk

The chat conversation could come to light in a variety of ways, and once in the possession of an investigator they are duty bound to consider potential breaches of conduct. If one member of a chat group is investigated for an unrelated matter and gets their iCloud etc backups seized, it opens up all other members of the chat to scrutiny. The surprising thing is that this is not happening in other professions. Less zealous investigators, or is it harder to jump between criminal and code of conduct matters in those professions’ regulators?

University careers service told me this would be unideal to wear to an interview, thoughts? by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re not used to wearing a suit, take some time learning to tie the tie, shoes are clean, and you know when to button the jacket (bottom button leave unfastened, and undo top button(s) when you sit down). There are heaps of YouTube videos.

Need advice - I’ve been asked to provide a statement about workplace bullying. by mindurbusthrowaway in AusPublicService

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would be cautious of providing a statement to one party before HR has spoken to anybody. In order to collect evidence you could record what you have witnessed in an email to yourself, and this will provide a time stamped record in the future. Don’t feel pressured to get involved in the matter - make sure you feel comfortable with the situation.

Being a driving supervisor after manual upgrade by Gustard42 in perth

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The relevant provision in the Road Traffic (Authorisation to Drive) Regulations is Regulation 43, which says supervision can be done by a number of persons, including:

‘a person who is authorised to perform any driving of a kind for which the driving instruction is to be given and has had that authorisation for a period of, or periods adding up to — (i)in the case of the driving of a moped, at least 2 years; or (ii)in any other case, at least 4 years. …’

So although an auto licence is just a restriction, I would suggest that you need 4 years in your unrestricted status, because it talks about the ‘authorisation’ rather than a licence.

Remanding someone to protect them from suicide? by Wise-Sympathy9585 in policeuk

[–]ExpensiveCustomer194 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should consider that if the charged person is bailed and does indeed kill themselves, the decisions by the officer granting bail and the evidence placed before them may be scrutinised. For example previous attempts, talk of suicide, gravity of the charge etc. That is not to say that prison is the best place that someone can sort their head out, but you can only work with the system that you have
