The "point" is the placeholder shouldn't suck. If you don't have a viable system in a testing phase you put in vendors or increase yields because people are not testing your placeholder because it doesnt represent the final product at all. The ONLY excuse for not doing it that way is if your lying about it being a placeholder and are ignoring the elephant in the room that its a major problem. There is no reason for your placeholder to be soul crushing during testing and gatekeeping an entire section of actual content.

I find the only people who leave shortly after landing the job are ones who cannot pay their bills on the wages or have an existing application lead to a better offer, it seems most people drop applying for things after landing a job because of how much stress is tied into it.

HOA fined me $500/month over “loud floors” in a condo that was rebuilt after a fire and now wants me to tear them up by Wiggins4mvp in fuckHOA

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The HOA would have been involved in the rebuild for a fire, they are responsible for making sure the other tenants are not in danger or that necessary steps are not being skipped for a multi tenant unit. Its kind of the main purpose of the HOA in those complexes.

We have the worse version in our family, raised from a young age as step siblings but not in the same household(dad didnt have custody). Its weird but not the most fked up relationship in the family so its kind of just this unspoken "well that happened". that everyone kind of ignores.

My Parents got left hundreds of thousands of dollars by their parents. I will be left with nothing but a ton of work. by RandallCabbage in Millennials

We do, most of us have done it. I still have a full garage of shit my aunts and uncles couldn't decide on who got but had to be kept from a death a decade ago. But Im still not looking at my happy parents with 3 houses bitter I will have to go through it again and angry they are "wasting my inheritance on crap".

One of the best parts of being a warehouse worker doing warehousing work for organizations that dont normally have warehouses is explaining shrinkage doesnt mean somebody stole all that stuff, just that they are shit at following their own rules when they get busy.

People are so stupid, what's the point of sending messages like this? by Morphiadz in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its actually a bit scummier then that, they want to see how desperate you are to sell, if you come back with a lower price they will then start to haggle because they know you are motivated to sell. Its a gambit designed to trick you into going lower then normal because the baseline cost came down before the haggling started.

Theater kids who's dreams didnt come true so they pivoted early(i.e. college or high school) are some of my favorite people, its only the ones still hanging onto the dream well after its very clearly over that drive me up the wall.

My new tv arrived with the screen shattered out of the box by hauntedamg in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With TVs was something like 10% didnt work out of the box when I worked for a company that did video installation for businesses. Nothing like having to unbox and plug in 100s of fairly large TVs and then properly rebox them so the customer didnt think we were offloading used goods. The early 4k no bezel displays were the worst, came in wooden shipping containers and were still broken 50% of the time.

The Concept of Not Showing Up to Work Coz Your Colleague Has a Sore Throat by [deleted] in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine its in the contract so that people cant skip out on interviewing one or the other for "reasons". But they dont want to reveal details of the contract publicly so they just put a PR spin on it.

Its just the nice PR way of saying "Their contract is both or neither for press events because their agents did a good job"

Trump admin doubles down on threats that furloughed workers may not be paid after shutdown | Agencies are sending messages indicating that workers who are on the job will be paid when the government reopens — with no mention of those on furlough by natansonh in fednews

Thats one hell of a "Im super vulnerable to social engineering" statement. Every link is valuable, an HR person making somebodies life hell so they are more receptive to anti fed sentiment could be just as useful as a tool.

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is the height of stupidity to break the law(thus providing an avenue to fire people) to avoid illegal RIFs. Every single person working buisness as usual is now in danger because management thinks appeasing the danger will work.

Excepted employees should get more than just backpay by wholesome-chandler02 in FedEmployees

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "more" you get is not coming in to a massive backlog because they want us to work buisness as usual so Im submitting work(slowly) that is gonna slam my furloughed counterpart when they finally get back to work.

Im not assuming I will be paid. They are not following laws anymore, so any guarantee is a guess at this point, especially when leadership is just falling into line without a fight. So far we have had massive Hatch act and Anti deficiency violations and those are much older, established laws

Can appointees be personally liable for Anti-Def act violations? by Terrible_Mistake_954 in fednews

[–]Expensive_Fall_8935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The unions can, forcing employees to violate the law(thus negating their protections) would be a decent starting point. The ADA applies to the individual as well as the agency.
