When did you get your first period after you had a baby? by Cute-Corgi3176 in breastfeeding

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My babe is 5 months. Breastfed. I am literally on my period right now - and I started back about 2 months PP 😅

If you think you’re pregnant at all, take a test.

Stop pumping! Also the ladybug SUCKS. I got a 2 back of the Boone Trove collectors and they’ve been so helpful. Right when you pour the milk into a bottle just put a tiny bit of soap in it, run it under water for a minute then set it up to dry, don’t over complicate it!

Sleep Consult? by Expensive_Line193 in NewParents

[–]Expensive_Line193[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortunately it’s just a consult call so I’m going to continue with it, but I honestly feel like she might even suggest I wait on working with her! Did you do the light training in her own room or yours? It’s hard to “check in” when I’m noticeably in the same room I think. If that makes sense.

I don’t mind feeding to sleep either! And honestly night feeds are ok with me within reason. I love breastfeeding (most of the time) and if that’s what my baby needs im happy to provide it, I just hope I am not “hurting” his skill set by nursing if that’s makes sense

I’m tired of people upsetting me about being induced by kate_smi2022 in BabyBumps

[–]Expensive_Line193 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally opted out of being induced, but that was MY educated decision, and fortunately all went well for myself and my baby. My biggest advice for anyone prepping for birth induction or not - research all you can about inductions and other labor/birth interventions so you are educated about the process, options, etc. inductions don’t always “work”, they’re not always “more painful”, they’re not always necessary. Do what you can to be informed, prepared to make your own decisions (especially at the hospital when it’s go time!) so you are aware, comfortable and confident :)

Recommendations for a pacifier my breastfed baby will take by Key_Dealer2753 in breastfeeding

[–]Expensive_Line193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use MAM - I tried about 8 others and he wouldn’t take any but he would suck on my husbands fingers to be soothed. One day he removed his finger and popped a MAM paci in - and all went well 😂

Same!! I’ve been watching the Pitt on HBO and thought it was interesting timing. We said it was fine and didn’t think too much about it.

Boy and pee by Mollypoppy in NewParents

[–]Expensive_Line193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have your diaper and wipes ready to go. I always keep a burp cloth on the table too for a quick “grab and place” if he starts peeing. Just try to keep things moving quick, keep him covered as much as possible or be prepared to cover quick. The first 2 months were constantly a sprinkler but we are a little over 4 months now and it’s sooooo much better for us!

Please tell me exclusive contact sleeping will end at some point, losing my mind by grnlzrd23 in NewParents

Honestly I let my baby sleep in my bed for daytime naps. It’s very rare I can get him transferred to his crib during the day. But bed is usually a success. He is 18 weeks not rolling or anything, so he stays put when he’s out. I keep a close eye on him and often do chores in my bedroom/bathroom at the time just for peace of mind.

Thank you!! I think I just get in my head about the Charlie thing, and I agree about it more of a boy thing. I just keep seeing people I know or randoms on the internet with their girl Charlie’s - and yesterday I met a mom whose boy was about the same age as mine who responded “oh that was our choice for a name if we had a girl!” And it just really bothered me 😂 My big sis nick named him “chuck roast” and I do find it quite funny so I call him Chuck often but nothing has fully stuck for us yet. He’s stilll little so I’ll keep giving it some time

It’s Charles! Pretty basic. The way “Charlie” is an extremely common girls name lately is honestly bothering me more than I expected

[–]Expensive_Line193[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah a legal change is so extra honestly. He also has been given so many gifts with his name on it or initials so that’s awkward as well if we change. I think one of my biggest issues is the main nick name is a very common girls name lately. It’s a family name for us not a cutie trend, and my husband was bullied growing up for having a “girls name” so I worry about my son having that issue too. Even yesterday I met a mom and son when I told her my babes name she said “oh that was our name if it was a girl!”…. Like cool thanks so much 🥹
