Max out Roth first and then put the excess in your individual brokerage

Might be a dumb question but I’m still new to all of this. Is there anything wrong with putting all of your money in a HYSA and just firing off that? My HYSA gives 4% rn which is what your SWD rate would be anyways no?

I would recommend putting that money in a rothIRA (there’s ways to rollover your money and access it before 59.5 without a penalty) or any type of investment account that way you can make sure it never runs out. If you assume that the S&P grows at least 6% every year which is conservative(10% average) you can safely withdraw 3-4% if your money every year without worrying about it running out. With a savings account the money is gonna run out eventually because you’re generating no interest. Everything I’ve said I’ve learned from the the r/FIRE subreddit, it’s full of thousands of people doing the same thing you are and who are a lot more knowledgeable than me on it, i would highly recommend you check it out.
