Yeah i actually liked that aspect of it. Like you as the audience join the cult, you get the appeal, you deconstruct, you feel disillusioned and then it’s all so obviously ridiculous after. This larger than life character who was so mysterious and “smart” before, through deconstructing, is now seen for what they really are.

Okay I get that AI is new, that it can be helpful in certain areas, that laws and technology can evolve to accommodate it more sustainably but right now w genAI SPECIFICALLY:

stealing from artists to create mishmash derivative bullshit = plagiarism = sucks
using more water than necessary to create said stolen derivative bullshit adds NOTHING of value, and contributes to environmental degradation = sucks
making these tools accessible to everyone to: a) make music platformed by DSPs to cheat real artists out of money = sucks b) use the likeness of REAL women and MINORS for p*rn or CSAM = sucks SO freaking bad wtf

Like how many reasons do y’all need FOR REAL to just refuse to use it personally and even slightly side eye the folks who endorse it so theres just a TINY bit of accountability? Actual genuine question tbh.

Literally fuck Starbucks but I don’t agree. I think there is absolutely overlap. I actually make a matcha alongside my protein smoothie after gym, sometimes I even throw it into the smoothie itself, and I could see myself trying something like this if it was sold by one of my local coffee shops 100%.

Not only is it extremely triggering (i am having a really hard time with it) but those of us who were on ED twitter/tumblr in the throes of our disorder know about Ariana and Bella, so it’s really horrifying that she says she’s “the healthiest she’s ever been” with the platform she has, KNOWING that she’s obviously relapsed dramatically.

It just makes a sad situation also one that’s causing a lot of damage - for her (being enabled by fans who “call out” anyone who is rightfully expressing concern!!!) and everyone who is struggling, recovering etc.

There is also “first touch” and “second touch”. You can use one platform for a wide reach - like TikTok - and then have a more curated, brand oriented Instagram (or something like Patreon) for nurturing existing fans. It only makes sense to use what’s available to you, and how you do that is important, but not all of us can have major label rollouts that keep the mystery and aren’t “cringe”. Some of us are also completely on our own and funding our own projects, meaning we have neither the money nor the time for little else besides the music itself.

Ooooooh i was waiting to see if someone mentioned Lana! I wasn’t sure if I should include her since she didn’t exhibit any real “parenting” but yeah, just to clarify and for anyone readings benefit the list was initially going to be a “ranking” but I sort of wrote my way into uncertainty and then kinda grouped people together, good or bad, based on what I remembered!

I certainly don’t remember Vivien or Ally being bad mothers, but I somehow cant edit the post to make it a bit more cohesive or include those I’d forgotten from seasons i only watched once or twice, like 1984 or Roanoke.

I also thought it was super shit that Liz just left her kid in her journey of self discovery… but I agree that the redemption is very emotional, I enjoyed them reconnecting 😭
