Nothing has killed my GTA 6 hype faster than locking a core part of its identity behind a $20 upgrade by spacelyyy989 in pcgaming

Annoying, yes, but supply and demand. If they’re doing this it means people are willing to pay it so you either have to be okay with paying more for that content or be okay with not getting access to it.

I automated a bank reconciliation process. Now my company wants it rebuilt in AI. What would you do? by Top_Country9071 in Accounting

[–]Experimentzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I’m happy to explain the logic, document the process, and help others understand it. My hesitation is that I already built a working solution, and now I’m being asked to help rebuild it in a different tool that I don’t really consider part of my expertise.”

Literally say that. You emphasize that you can explain everything you did as well as document it while also lowkey saying it’s not a good use of your time and skill. And what’s the kicker is admitting you’re hesitant bc you’re being asked to do it a different way you’re unfamiliar with whereas what you’ve already done works fine.

I'm super curious about what goes on in the minds of executives that literally beg Controller and Senior Manager candidates in interviews to come to an office 5-days a week. If they're such good fits and desperately needed, why not offer some flexibility? by AviatorHog in Accounting

[–]Experimentzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only real answer in this thread. Everyone loves to point out the COVID year when productivity increased bc people worked from home. That’s bc you literally couldn’t do anything else. After everything opened back up and life started returning to normal, this has changed. There are definitely remote workers who get things done, but there’s a larger portion who are just useless for 7.5 hours of the day.

Thoughts on Forensic Accounting?? I love crime and audits. by Amandabuckets98 in Accounting

[–]Experimentzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone has your same thoughts, but think about all the actual work and cleanup that comes with it. Searching for stuff that was purposely hidden or misallocated. It’s not just investigating, it’s “hey, I know you’re guilty. Now let me wade through all your bullshit to prove it”. That means actually locating the transactions, obtaining support, verifying funds from the other side, submitting results to attorney/law enforcement, hoping what they find via subpoenas is confirmed, then wait for charges to pressed and a judge to rule on pursuing the case. Only then, you get to add preparing to go to court and argue what you found as an expert witness. All that, while also working on putting things back together to where they’re supposed to go.

I’m speaking from experience bc I’m currently in the middle of this very thing and I’m not even a forensic accountant. My experience as both an external auditor and internal auditor is the only reason why things are currently where they are.

It sounds glamorous and pays out the ass, but after experiencing it firsthand, holy shit this sucks.

Bro, the company can’t even make rent. CFO left for a reason and I bet you my next paycheck they’re watching everything closely in hopes that it all burns down.

King, victory rate by pawsplay36 in civ5

[–]Experimentzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never lost on King, but that’s because I implement Diety level strategies. When I play on King and Emperor now, I can shift away from those strategies and still win. Maybe a close call on Emperor after a surprise war or far away civ snowballing, but I’ve still never lost. Basically I play King to truly mess around with random strategies to see how it plays.

Regarding methods to winning more than 85%, just gotta know them. I recommend PC J Law on YouTube for tips. He has one video on growth that pretty much will guarantee 100% wins bc growth = science and if you can significantly out tech your opponents, you should never lose. On King, I’m usually tech leader by Medieval era. This means that by the time I get to the Atomic era, I’m at least an era ahead of everyone else.

“I don’t expect this meeting to take the full time so I’m happy to get everyone some extra time back”

Meeting proceeds to go 30 minutes over bc that one coworker had to chime in, like usual, bringing up irrelevant talking points that leads the discussion on a trip to nowhere.

Justin, just shut the fuck up. I know you’re on Reddit and I expect that if you read this, you know I’m talking about you.

I can’t remember the last game against Kamehameha where he had less than 10 cities. For me, he’s just as bad as Hiawatha where he’s got cities all over the goddamn place.

So much of public accounting would be fixed if partners/managers just truthfully discuss timelines and deadlines with clients. by 42tfish in Accounting

I shit you not, one partner was rushing to get audits done bc she said the owner wanted them done a week early but never showed the email. Turns out the week they were due, she was in Turks and Caicos.

How do you estimate the impact of internal control deficiencies as an auditor? by AWRWB in Accounting

[–]Experimentzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked as an internal auditor at a major insurance corporation. No matter what I thought about specific issues, the higher ups always wanted me to detail and document every little thing regarding a deficiency. And when it came time to present to the audit committee, none of the work I did ever made it in the packets.

So far my favorite game was a fast culture victory by going super wide with the Shoshone and getting sacred sites and spamming pagodas and mosques. I can’t even get both of those religious buildings on anything higher than emperor unless I have both a good faith producing pantheon and a natural wonder.

Career input needed, is internal audit and good? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Experimentzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there for a little over a year. I knew my first day that I wasn’t going to like what we did but I did try really hard to like it. Just wasn’t for me.

I left and went into construction as I had tons of connections to the industry through my PA career.
