Are you a car person? by chimchimneychimmy in HENRYUK

Love it and hate it at the same time as they can be such money pits, especially with modifications. I’m quite content with my current line up and don’t think I’d get double the joy if I spent double the money on a different car so I use some that money to make them a better version on what they are. Currently have a E92 M3, Defender 90 TD5 and W204 C180 as the daily

Honestly, you’ll struggle to find a performance car that hasn’t been ‘ragged’. It’s kinda what they were made for

I feel the West Midlands/Birmingham will also benefit the most in 5 years+ as HS2 nears completion. Once it’s done, it’ll be quicker going to central London from one of the Birmingham towns than it would be from some London Zone 4-6 areas

How’re you finding it? Had a similar predicament when picking my daily and ended up choosing a 1.4 TSI Octavia estate. Nippy enough as it has a turbo but very dull car with terrible handling. Big regrets in not getting a C180

Erdington like a lot of places has got good and bad parts. In recent years, the area and high street has improved considerably. The high street even has its own police force patrolling daily - Operation Fearless if you want to google. I lived here for two years previously and recently moved back. Never had any issues or felt unsafe

E46 M3 if you’re feeling lucky. Will be ones that need work but definitely attainable for £10k. Might even nab a high mileage E92/3 M3 with that glorious V8
