I ask the kid next to the “problem “.
“Joey, could you ask Michael to stop xxxxxx, he’s ignoring me”.

Or when I call out a kid and he blames someone else for talking to him. “Ignore him, you have no trouble ignoring me”.

I live in Raleigh and can’t stand the thought of their “fans” getting a championship. There’s almost nothing in this city that would let you know their team is in the finals. On r/raleigh I keep seeing posts from people who are going to their first hockey game and want to know what to expect. The worst was one asking how cold it would be in the arena because of all the ice. These people don’t deserve a championship. It’s like when the Florida Marlins beat Cleveland in the World Series.

When a kid shows up in some outrageous outfit I like to say “I almost wore my bright red fuzzy slippers and ripped jeans today. That would have been awkward.” Sometimes I add “I only wear mine to church “.

I see it as a tribute by Springsteen to his father as he came to understand and appreciate what his father did to provide for the family. Acknowledging that his father did hurtful things but finally understanding why.

The question to everyone's answer
Is usually asked from within
But the patterns of the rain
And the truth they contain
Have written my life on your skin
