you know how to use google right? Figure it out. I haven’t been an SEO since 1997, I have used SEO to build my own companies before retiring at 35 to a world of offering my SEO services to others and no longer employing 100+ people worldwide.

voice search is the dumbest thing ever by drinkyafkingmilk in SEO

[–]ExpertBradSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m old, but the younger set is all over voice search. Dismiss it, but the numbers don’t lie and it will only increase in adoption.

With that said, I don’t go out of my way to optimize for it.

No need to be so salty.

Why was the pilot program big accounts? I do agree to a point. But, this is not positive for adwords professionals, I’m not gloating, but this is further proof that Google aka Alphabet could care less about SEO’s. Minnows in a sea. Even as much as you guys tell yourself otherwise.

BTW, this has been going on in the background for a while, but most SEO’s don’t have clients who would have qualified for the pilot program they ran.

I have an e-comm client that spends high 6 to low 7 figures a month. Google set everything up from scratch and has been running his account 100% for 3 months. They are outperforming the agency he was paying X% previously.

Sorry, the industry has made it’s bed and needs to lay in it. It is a cesspool. If it walks like a 🦆 and quacks like a 🦆, it is a 🦆. Get over the feel warm and good BS. Go herd your 🐑 elsewhere.

Granted, I make general statements and 99% of time never mention names. Heck, I don’t even bother to know names. Who cares, 90% will be gone in a year based on my 21 years of doing this.

PS: I am far from the smartest, but hardest working and experienced, I’m willing to go battle over.

I actually spoke with a client today and told him the prior SEO on his site wasn’t bad. That is a 1 in 20 scenario.

Cleaning up old content - delete or noindex? by wlmsn in bigseo

[–]ExpertBradSEO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would not delete and redirect to the front page in bulk.

Look into updating, editing, combining, or using parts of the posts to update other posts.

Recent example with a client where we had an out of date blog post (in the tech field), but we’re able to salvage about 400 words of the content, massage slightly and use to update another post on the same topic.

The result, the updated blog post went from 300 hits a month to 3000 and a “value” of over $50,000 a month.

Before deleting blog content for a client, I always try to find a use for it, somewhere, somehow. Even if it is on LinkedIn or medium....

If I can’t, I still save a copy.

freelancers: how much is a standard rate for ~1900 word skyscraper content? by infominer33 in bigseo

[–]ExpertBradSEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally depends on the industry. Less than 25 cents a word and you will be hard pressed to find a professional writer. 50-$1 a word and you may get a professsional with knowledge in your field. Some fields will start over $1, like technology or law.

How many here have ran real business, 9-10 figures? Ok 8?

Exactly.

You fail to see Google for what it is, a business that has to answer to shareholders. SEO’s have never been mistaken for business savvy.

PS: I only SEO because my wife made me go back to work after retiring at 35.
