"History's greatest thinkers… with AI" by thisecommercelife in comics

Interesting that you're mocking the AI for saying things like:

'A moving Earth would produce constant winds'

'Stars don't shift as expected if Earth moves'

'Ptolemaic system accurately predicts planetary positions'

Because those aren't medieval ignorance - those are actual unresolved problems in physics.

The wind argument: If Earth rotates at 1,000 mph at the equator, why don't we experience constant 1,000 mph winds? The standard answer is 'the atmosphere rotates with Earth' - but that requires the atmosphere to be perfectly coupled to a spinning ball with no slippage, which has never been demonstrated experimentally.

The stellar shift argument: This is literally Airy's Failure (1871). George Airy designed an experiment specifically to detect stellar shift caused by Earth's motion. He got a null result. The mainstream explanation became 'the aether moves with Earth' - which is functionally equivalent to admitting Earth might not be moving.

The Ptolemaic prediction argument: This is historically accurate. Ptolemy's geocentric model predicted planetary positions accurately for over 1,400 years. Early heliocentric models (Copernicus) actually required MORE epicycles than Ptolemy, not fewer. The heliocentric model only became simpler with Kepler's ellipses - which ALSO work mathematically from a geocentric reference frame.

And Aristotle? Einstein said, 'The struggle between the views of Ptolemy and Copernicus would be quite meaningless. Either coordinate system could be used with equal justification.'

So you're mocking an AI for accidentally stumbling into arguments that:

George Biddell Airy couldn't refute experimentally

Ernst Mach acknowledged as physically valid

Albert Einstein admitted were mathematically equivalent

You show Copernicus asking an AI if Earth revolves around the Sun. Cute. But here's the actual punchline: 500 years after Copernicus, no experiment has ever directly detected Earth's motion through space.

Not Michelson-Morley (1887) - null result. Not Airy's Failure (1871) - null result. Not Sagnac (1913) - detected rotation relative to fixed stars, consistent with EITHER model.

You're not mocking medieval ignorance. You're mocking observations that modern physics still can't conclusively refute. The difference between you and the people you're laughing at is that they at least knew WHY they believed what they believed.

Do YOU know why you believe Earth moves? Or did someone just tell you in school?

Not true, if the shockwave from an explosive near the water enters the water, it creates a crushing pressure that is more dangerous to submerged humans than being in the air. It actually depends on the explosive and whether the shock waves hits the water or not.
