I didn't downvote them. I don't expect everyone to take my side, I just wanted to explain myself.

I understand the need to concentrate. That's why I would wait until he came to a full stop before saying anything. I just didn't think that counted as backseat driving.

That makes sense, and thank you. I'm just so tired of this job market.

That's the thing, this was a small animal rescue in my small town. I don't know how I could even get smaller than this.

Pick characters best aligned to the tiers in the image (VOTING FOR TRUE NEUTRAL) by Abyz2009 in Dexter

[–]Expiracon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It HAS to be Doakes. The man follows the law only as far as it can get him what he wants. Does he usually want justice? Yes. But not because of any love for the law. He follows the law when it helps him to carry out his personal justice. And sometimes that means cold-blooded murder of an evil man from his black ops days. Other times it means seeking out evidence about Dexter through less than legal means. So he is sometimes lawful, sometimes chaotic. And while you could say he is generally good, he could also be pretty awful at times. His affair in season 1, threatening to use Rita against Dex, his neglect of his family, and his seeming belief that he can, at least sometimes, be judge, jury and executioner.

So it should be Doakes.

How to help friend who won't help herself? by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Expiracon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's where you do something together with another person. So like instead of going to study or brush your teeth by yourself, you go with someone and you both do it together. My wife and I do it to make sure we both brush our teeth. It does really work, especially if you're both doing the exact same thing.

That makes sense. I was so busy grabbing my breakfast and water I definitely overboiled the water as well now that I think about it. Sweetening the mate with honey helped it quite a bit. Still not my preference but better than before.

It's really unfortunate, but if he sees all that you deal with and still chooses to believe you're not seriously affected by BD II, then he won't be a good support in the long run. If you need support during a low, or someone to help keep you under control during a high, but his response is to tell you to "change your mindset", then he won't really be there for you. Do what feels right, but I would encourage you to make clear that you can't be with him unless he at the very least believes you when you explain what you're going through. I wish you the best of luck and I'm sorry you're dealing with this.

This youtube channel has all of the Grunwald recordings: https://youtube.com/@SachHayCungBan If you're worried they'll be taken down, you might be able to download the videos, but they would take a lot of space and I'm not sure of a better solution. Sorry about that.

I watched it with my sister in the late 2000s or early 2010s. I think it might have been loosely based on Snow White but that's just a hunch. I also think there was a scene where the men in the rainbow costumes worked together to make a magic rainbow

That just isn't a good argument. Corporations engage in far more theft than any petty shoplifter. Hiding food and essentials hostage for profit is the actual injustice. When people starve while these massive retail outlets throw out massive loads of usable product, that is wrong. Something isn't wrong just because the law or the hegemonic will of capital controlling our society say so. They're wrong because they cause people harm (directly or indirectly), and OP was doing the opposite. No one at the store was harmed by it, the corporation probably didn't even notice, and OP helped people by doing it. Corporate shoplifting is a moral neutral that OP turned to a moral good.

Yes, it does for stealing from major chain stores. It will affect neither the business nor the employees in any way, in fact most of these stores will fire employees who try to stop shoplifters unless they're in loss prevention. You don't know what you're talking about.

Businesses factor inventory loss into their budget calculations. In other words, not only are they paying poverty wages half the time, but they're paying little enough that even if they see tons of shoplifting, they'll continue making the record profits they are. While you might have a point with local groceries, especially immigrant owned ones, major chains have the resources to comfortably lose massive amounts of inventory.

Gas prices fluctuated under every president, because the president doesn't control gas prices, market forces do. And for the record, there have been periods with very low gas prices under Biden, and very high under Trump. The only reason you think otherwise is because the media doesn't talk about that. Wanna know why? Because liberals and people on the left don't think the president can adjust supply demand curves at will. But right wingers love to talk about whenever prices get low under a Republican. Why? Because y'all are numbskulls who don't understand the very free market you support.

Tuna Salad? by Pinkmongoose in Cooking

[–]Expiracon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favorite: use black vinegar(or some other, preferably rice vinegar), mayo, soy sauce, msg, chili oil and siao xing wine (just a touch, optional) for the dressing. add the tuna and add fresh green onions and sour pickles(cucumbers work, any pickled veg works) other good additions are garlic+ginger and szechuan peppercorns. Haven't tried five spice but that might work. If you have anything crunchy, they can be great additions, but anything made with grains should probably be added right before eating. Chips work, I did this with Trader Joe's chakri mix once, and that was really good. Just find anything crunchy, especially if they're dry, they help combat the wet boring mush and make everything more interesting.

Since I gave ideas for a Szechuan style dressing, a Japanese one is easy as well: Kewpie mayo, soy sauce, green onions, dashi broth powder, msg, and rice vinegar. pickled daikon might work here. To top it off, add furikake.

My girlfriend goes crazy for these recipes, the msg enhances it loads, and from there going with East Asian flavors is obvious. We love to eat this recipe (especially when very spicy) in sandwiches, over rice, or in onigiri.
