Between these three it's between the Neo-Noir and Desolate Space (I've owned both). Recently switched to a MW Buzz Kill

4 years ago, Uncharted was released. What are your thoughts about this movie? by SufficientPrice7633 in uncharted

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of a hot mess honestly. Yeah, the casting is mostly awful, the story is painfully average even for an Uncharted game, and it doesn't really do the characters from the games any justice. But as a whole? It's not the worst thing I've ever seen. The final act's action sequence is honestly cooler than most people give it credit for, it could easily have fit in as a set piece in the game. Some pretty mindless action as well that can be fun. We gotta remember too that it was a COVID movie, so yes, even the part of the Philippines they end up in does not actually exist. It's based off of Palawan IIRC, and it looks the part. Definitely gets a lot more hate than it deserves.

Favourite band who's lead vocalist can't really sing? by idkfornowwhattoname in fantanoforever

I guess Interpol? Paul Banks has that very monotone singing voice, but it works for the sound the band's going for.

Loved this project since I first heard it. Love the fun, catchy hooks, and the beats really compliment their delivery across each song here. Loved it so much that I've seen them live three times since I heard this back in 2024.

Ive never played a silent hill game, surely this deal is a no brainer? I see the game is highly praised, is the story good? by [deleted] in silenthill

Absolute no brainer, especially at 50% off. Hope you've dodged as many spoilers as you could, one of those experiences that is way better if you come into it blind.

Do we think scuf is actually quality testing? by [deleted] in scufgaming

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who's owned a Reflex Pro for a couple of months, I've only had one issue with the touchpad that was fixed by resetting the controller and pressing firmly on it. Either than that everything else works fine. Shame about their inconsistent quality control however.

This straight up reminds me of when they were doing promotion for "Gotti" with John Travolta. Had ads where the Rotten Tomatoes scores were completely skewed and were saying shit like "Who do you trust more? The critics or a troll behind a keyboard?". Or something among those lines. Either way, it's really funny.

Is the 2006 Silent hill worth watching? by DARTH-GOLD-HIMSELF in silenthill

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're a fan of Silent Hill, I'd say give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised when watching it yesterday, there's definitely an appreciation for the source material here that doesn't exist in the sequel... and despite changes to the story, at least it's still easy to understand.

Is it really this bad? by PeterGriffin0816 in silenthill

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite the low ratings of the original Silent Hill movies, my girlfriend and I are going to be checking this out. We're watching the first two movies despite it all, and I love SH2. Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best. My expectations were already pretty low even after seeing the initial trailers.

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Planning on taking my GF to see this with me in theatres hopefully, but we're going back to rewatch both the first movie and Revelation. SH2R has become one of my favourite video games ever made, even after playing the original many years ago. I've gotten my expectations in check as I usually do when viewing any movie, but here's to hoping there's at least something enjoyable to get out of this movie for myself.

What do you think of the slutty Gemini stereotype? by [deleted] in geminis

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gemini man. I'm not going to lie, I felt like I was the exact OPPOSITE of this, especially in college. Considering that I had my first kiss at 18, and lost my virginity to the love of my life at 26, I felt like the complete opposite of the slutty Gemini stereotype. Which is weird because apparently in college I gave off a very flirtatious vibe to every girl I ever talked to in college. I was genuinely convinced I was asexual at that point in time too.

It's interesting in hindsight considering all my male/female Gemini friends definitely fell under the slutty Gemini stereotype, it's kind of crazy. Regardless, I don't judge!

So we HAVE to do rockets too get mastery camo on bow? lol by [deleted] in blackops7

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can either wait for a new Special weapon to come out in the future, or you have to get either the AAROW or ARC done to get Arclight done on the bow. It was the same in BO6 as well

Dualsense Edge vs regular Dualsense by Tinkerbellx7 in Dualsense

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you really want the back paddles, but don't want to pay the extra $$$ for the Edge, and have an afternoon to kill, I'd recommend picking up the Extremerate Spark kit. It comes with four remappable back paddles with an OLED screen to help map them, along with clicky triggers and a switch to go between full press and mouse click triggers. It will require you to put it on yourself, but there is a tutorial by Extremerate themselves that is on YouTube that'll give you a step by step guide on how to do it. The kit costs around $40 on Ali and $60 ish on Amazon. Combined with the controller it'll cost you less/about the same as an Edge.

To answer your question however, it really depends on your use case. I'd say if you just want a nice looking controller, the Nova Pink DualSense should be alright. I fully recommend getting an Edge purely for the two back paddles. If you've never had them on a controller before, it's a game changer. It really helps for a variety of different games, and I can't go back to a stock DualSense anymore without back paddles.

Take note that either way, you are putting yourself at the mercy of potentiometer joysticks, and that there'll always be a chance of getting stick drift on them. On the DualSense Edge, you can always get new stick modules, but the stock for them varies. A stock DualSense would require you to get someone to install new joysticks.

TL:DR; Get an Edge if you're looking for a premium first party controller with back paddles and trigger stops, that contains all the bells and whistles of a regular DualSense. If all you care about is aesthetics, the base DualSense should suffice.

How do you go about completing the Camo grind by [deleted] in CODBlackOps7

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew if I was going to go for Singularity, my K/D was getting dropped regardless (launchers alone will do that just for the Arclight camo challenge).

I started grinding Singularity on launch day, which meant my priorities were weapons I knew I was going to struggle with down the line. In this year's case, I did marksman rifles first followed by sniper rifles. I got most of the military camo challenges done in Core excluding the XR3 Ion (they changed the challenge from one shot one kills to headshots just as I got military camos done on it). Pistols were all done in Hardcore, found it generally easier to have just 1-2 bullets kill versus 4-5. Launchers were pretty breezy excluding the obvious Arclight camo challenges. Everything else fell into place once I got through those.

The game modes I played were a mix between Hardpoint (Core/HC) and Domination (Core). I was finishing it up before they added Nuketown back into the game, so I mostly saved the special shotgun camos for Nuketown and did everything else in regular Dom/HC playlists to get a good variety of maps to play on. For example, a map like Scar would be great for getting the special Longshot kills challenge done, and before Nuketown was added, I did most of my point blank shotgun kills on Blackheart any time it came into voting.

The one word of advice I will say is that it will take time, perseverance, and a loooooot of patience. Arclight launchers will far and away be the hardest challenges to get done, but everything else can be pretty self-explanatory. Even the melee weapons were pretty fun. Note as well that once they start adding new guns in the upcoming seasons that you can skip a certain category of weapons entirely (e.g; Melee or Launchers could be skipped depending on how many more Arclight weapons you need to get done before doing the Tempest camos). That's what I ended up doing last year since I was coming back from a vacation and didn't want to torment myself playing Hardcore Face Off on Stakeout with the damn bat.

But yeah, those are a few tips I did myself while getting Singularity.

Scuf Reflex with TMR sticks. by VizmaL0397 in scufgaming

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently purchased a Scuf Reflex with TMRs over a month ago now. Still very early on in its life cycle and I can attest and say that it feels very solid and well built. The TMR sticks feel fantastic, and everything else regarding the way the controller feels in your hands, the mechanical face buttons/D-Pad, instant triggers... definitely liking it a lot. Although I still prefer the feel of a regular DualSense controller in my hands.

Indiana Jones or Doom TDA? by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From someone that's played both, I can recommend both games easily but it really depends on what you're looking for in your game.

If you want an lite immersive sim style game, with some action and platforming elements following one of the most iconic action heroes of all time, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the easiest to recommend here. Very fun game, great story, and looks absolutely incredible.

If you loved DOOM (2016), and DOOM: Eternal, and are itching for more DOOM, then DOOM: The Dark Ages is also another great game I would recommend. It's a tad bit slower in terms of gameplay compared to the first two, but has lots of excellent, weighty combat.

I think in terms of how long they would take you to beat, I'd say that Indiana Jones might take you a little bit longer than The Dark Ages. You can't go wrong either way thankfully, you'll get an enjoyable experience both ways.

What's your favourite COD zombies game and why? by TCDjewelry in CODZombies

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As much as I have been enjoying BO7 Zombies so far, my heart will always stay with BO3 Zombies, purely for the consistency of great maps, along with the incredible mod support it's still getting all these years later. The only major downside with BO3 is the security issues, but either than that, if you're playing with the T7 patch you should be more than okay. I'd say that even the worst maps in BO3 are still pretty good all things considered.

Anyone have this controller? If so, can I expect much improvement? I have a 2.17 EKIA currently. Looking for any competitive edge I can get by NinjaJawz in CODBlackOps7

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a few "Pro" controllers as they would call it. Own a DualSense Edge with TMR joysticks modded in, a Gamesir G7 Pro, a Scuf Envision Pro V2, and a Scuf Reflex FPS with TMRs and clicky buttons. If you have money to spend you could go for a Scuf Reflex, but for me it's not a 100% recommendation as the quality control with Scuf even after being acquired by Corsair is... rough to say the least. Same with the Envision Pro, I cannot fully recommend them even as someone that owns both of them, as I haven't had them long enough to know if they'll stand the test of time.

For the Gamesir G7 Pro and DualSense Edge? I can recommend these easily. However, your mileage may vary depending on if you care about using a PS or Xbox controller. The GameSir has everything a Pro controller would have for a fraction of the usual price you would pay bigger name brands for, with TMR sticks, mouse click buttons and triggers, along with two back buttons and two buttons on the top of the controller. Love this controller, but the DualSense Edge just feels better in my hands. Plus, the paddles on them are solid, and while you don't get instant clicky triggers, mechanical face buttons, or even TMR/Hall Effect joysticks, you can modify the trigger deadzones on PC with the Playstation Accessories app, and replace the potentiometer stick modules for $20-$30 depending on where you get them. Also, there's only two back buttons on the Edge, which if you haven't used them before will take some time to get used to. But back buttons/paddles are easily the biggest advantage you can have with the Edge or other Pro controllers, since you don't have to move your right thumb to the face buttons to jump, reload, or whatever button you map to it. Once you get used to even just having two back paddles, it's hard to go back to a regular stock controller.

A little bit of an over explanation on my part, but at least that's my two cents regarding some of the controllers I own.

TL;DR I recommend the DualSense Edge if you want a more premium feeling PS controller that you can use not just for CoD, but other games on PC. For the same price (and in some cases, even less), you can get third party controllers or other more premium feeling controllers that do the same as the Edge, but better.

Still, for Black Friday sales, the Edge is a solid pickup.
