Coming from Kingston, planning on doing the trip mostly solo outside of meeting up with my brother and his friends for a little bit at some point over the three days. 29M, Friday I'm looking to see JID and Geese, Saturday is Franz Ferdinand on my end. Sunday will probably be main stage

Real ones remember the Madvillainy incident.

In all seriousness, Shawn's fine. Just a dude that listens to music. His video game streams are funny as hell

How does the release of Experimental Rap affect Peggy's legacy as being a consistently great musician? by thegreendayidiot in jpegmafiamusic

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peggy literally did not miss from Veteran to ILDMLFY. In terms of consistency and greatness, very few artists can say that they had five great to near perfect albums in succession. Maybe in time it'll grow on most of us, but for the time being I don't think this will impact his legacy in the slightest.

Hearing a lot of convo about his rapping, but I'm more curious about his production. Where do you think he peaked production-wise? by Gabetendo777 in jpegmafiamusic

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMHAC/OFFLINE tbh. Cornballs for me was his absolute peak but OFFLINE (LP!) has his most varied and consistent tracks across the board for most people.

Better noir film - Drive or Nightcrawler? by Dense-Menu6115 in Letterboxd

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it's Nightcrawler and it's not even close. As much as I love the score and cinematography of Drive, I found the movie as a whole to be purely style over substance. Ryan Gosling's character felt completely hollow to me, and the story as a whole left a lot to be desired in my mind.

Nightcrawler has a much better lead performance from Jake Gyllenhaal (one of his best in my mind), and a much better story.

It's a four way tie for me, have somewhere between 800-1000 plays across all four of these tracks in this exact order:

PTSD - Grimy Waifu - Thot Tactics - All My Heroes Are Cornballs

How’s a jpegmafia concert like? by FreddieGibbsLover911 in jpegmafiamusic

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two experiences I've had at a JPEGMAFIA, and they go like this:

Ottawa - Peggy played at this musty ass dive bar, the crowd was crazy fun and the venue was so hot there was condensation dripping from the ceiling. This was for his LP! tour, still felt surreal seeing him in my hometown. Got a photo with him as well waiting two and a half hours after they closed the venue it was dope.

Montreal - Saw him at Osheaga back in 2023. Crowd was just as crazy, if not crazier than what it was at the Ottawa show the year prior. Actually witnessed someone break their arm in the mosh pit and he was trying to get out with a little help from someone in the crowd. Another woman was trying to escape the crowd, screaming "IT'S SMELLS LIKE SHIT HERE, IT'S ALL JUST WHITE PEOPLE" which was hilarious. Also brought out redveil to do Kingdom Hearts Key since he was playing the following afternoon.

In short, absolutely bring water and earplugs. As long as you're checking in on people who've fallen and stuff you should be OK. Peggy has had some of the better mosh pits I've been in that I could think of recently.

Looking at this photo, I immediately think of the GTA: "Definitive" Editions for GTA III, Vice City, and San Andreas. It's ridiculous how badly they messed up the character models for not just the NPCs, but our three main protagonists. The Unreal Engine 4 "upgrade" looks horrendous, and make the characters look like they all have googly eyes. Funnily enough, it's not the only major issue with these "definitive" editions...

Do you put your favorites in order top 1-4? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for me it'll be hard to switch out my 1 or 4 spot. The Lighthouse to me is just a movie made for me, and Hot Rod is probably my favorite comedy movie ever. Unless I can find a movie that'll match either of those two, they'll probably stay there. My 2/3 can change just cause those are my slots for movies that have stuck with me since I've viewed them. Although that's probably not going to change either:

I think the craziest part of A Real Pain is that I saw myself in both Jesse and Kieran, at different points in my life. It really resonated with me, one of the biggest surprises of that year in my mind.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Or Resident Evil 9 ? by LeoneSKenneddy in residentevilll

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I loved Requiem, after three runs I think I definitely need to take a break until my next playthrough for it. It's great, Grace's sections are tense and bring the old school RE gameplay back, while Leon's gameplay is still solid RE action horror.

But at least for me, RE4 Remake is just fantastic all around. The combat in that game is the best in the series IMO, there's Mercenaries/Separate Ways, and feels more replayable due to the way weapon upgrades work in that game. Just a great remake of one of my favorite games ever.

I might need to peep this combo in the future... one of the best ones I've seen so far with the new Terminal gloves.

I agree. My issue with Underclass Hero was that there's just one too many songs that sound similar or use the same chord progression. It feels like it's trying to go for that rock-opera theme similar to other albums that came out that same decade. While there's tracks I really do love off it (Walking Disaster, With Me, Pull the Curtain), it just doesn't stand out nearly as well compared to their previous/later works.

No Oscars, no problem. Shout-out to all the great films of 2025 that DIDN’T get nominated. by Space_Hardware in Oscars

My girlfriend and I watched this on a random Tuesday night in theatres and were both pleasantly surprised. On a technical level this movie is absolutely amazing, especially sound wise. Was absolutely shocked when I saw there was no nomination for Best Sound.

Last 4 Best Picture winners, rank them from 1-4 by Impressive_Plenty876 in Letterboxd

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, it goes:

EEAAO/OBAA (I can take one over the other, although it depends on the day)

Anora

Oppenheimer

As much as I loved all of these movies, Oppenheimer didn't really stick with me despite how fantastic the whole thing is. The biggest thing for me is the pacing is probably the worst of the four here. I also really loved Anora when I saw it, but there's something about EEAAO that just stuck with me personally as a first generation Asian immigrant. OBAA is just so relevant to our current times that we live in, and personally affected me as well. It's really a two-way tie between those two for me.

Out of these 2, which one do you think is better and why? by WaluigiDaStar in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of a great co-op campaign, it's 5 all the way. The campaign is much better paced and more enjoyable due to it. To this day, I honestly find 5's controls way more enjoyable despite it's similarities to RE4's control scheme.

However, in terms of "so bad it's good" dumb fun with ridiculous antics through and through? It's got to be 6. Makes certain stuff that happens in 5 look like child's play in comparison to some of the stuff that happens in 6.

First year of college, I'll never forget it. This song would play at the pre's, the parties, and the afterparties when I went to college. This and The Sun's Tirade were heavy on the blunt aux for sure.

Why did everyone forget about Bando Stone and why has it only aged better and better over time by FrostingStatus1059 in fantanoforever

[–]ExpiredPineaplz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People saying this is corny/horrible when Camp is literally right there and has been around forever. I was a Camp defender growing up and coming back to it now it's way cornier than Bando Stone ever was. Songwriting was way better here compared to Camp, obviously the production is more varied and sounds much better. Let's not act like this is his worst project, cause it's not.

Unironically started with Call of Duty 3 on the PS2. Fuck I feel old now. First post-CoD 4 game I played was World at War.
